While it looked great on screen, I really doubt it would work like that in real life. It would probably do nothing, and the criminals would go down looking like some of the dumbest robbers in history. Just doesn't seem plausable for a second.
Like they say - only in the movies.
Far fetched? Of course, any bank robbery is far fetched, the best idea is probably just to run in, point a gun and get the heck out of there. But for an over-elaborate plan, this one was well thought out.Comment

Anyway, at the end, right after Case reveals his affiliations with the Nazis, Jodie leaves and says she has to go help Bin Laden's nephew purchase a co-op.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Oh yeah. Forgot about that scene. She doesn't say much though. Oh well. One of her last lines.

The Bin Laden line was funny, I think Lee was trying to ruffle some feathers with it a bit, but nothing too bad.Comment

Yeah, I thought it was interesting. At least it answered my question of who the guy was at the beginning.

shoot the best line by far was the one the mayor said to Jodie Foster when he looked at her and said "you know... you're a magnificent ****!"
I almost fell out of my seat laughing after that line!
Apparently we can say **** on OS and not have it blocked out... Mods might want to fix that lol.http://flotn.blogspot.com

I, along with most of the audience at the theatre, cracked up at that line too. The theatre was laughing the entire time Clive was playing the PSP as well.

Chances are, even if they did get everyone mixed up like that, there would be something they missed that the police would catch up on, or some kind of obvious factor in telling. Or they'd be able to crack the people down 1 by 1 and figure it out.
I just don't buy that it would trip the police up nearly as much as it did in the movie.Comment

Originally posted by TimmayYes, on that. But I think you're underestimating crime prevention technology at the moment, and human psychology.

I agree that it is highly unlikely, but as far as overly-elaborate bank robbery schemes go, that was a pretty good one. But you're right, there would be a slip up somewhere and at least one would get caught and probably end up ratting on the others to get less jail time. If it were executed PERFECTLY, then they would at least be held up in the interviews/investigation process for a long while, but it wouldn't have been dropped.Comment

OK movie but I thought it was a little too long but compared to the crap that's been coming out lately at least it was clever. One thing I didn't get or maybe I missed it but how did Clive Owen know what Case did 60 years ago and more importantly how would he know what was in the safety deposit box and what branch it was located at?
I just thought that whole Nazi thing was totally unnecessary as it just seemed like a flimsy premise to bring in the Foster Character who (what a great pair of legs, Jodie looked hot, hard to beleive she's only into muff) really didn't add anything to the movie besides the aforementioned gams. It just seemed they could of done a clever heist movie without bringing all that war crime stuff in as motive to blur everything up especially when it was left unresolved at the end.Last edited by Guest; 03-27-2006, 10:07 PM.Comment
