I saw it when it first came out. Thought it was pretty good, just not interested in seeing it again.

A couple of my friends didn't like it, thought it was too long, but I liked it alot. Jackson really is this generation's Spielberg.

I guess since someone already mentioned an extended cut coming out around Christmas, I won't bother with my "I'm waiting for the directors cut edition, i thought it was missing something" joke...

I thought it was absolutely amazing. People gripe about the lingering "eye" shots, but I felt they really fleshed out the characters. And whing about length to me is pointless, as I would rather have characters I care about as opposed to cookie cutters.

Rent, buy, or wait for the EE. I'll pick up both versions, since it was one of my wife's favorite movies of all time.

This depends. It's King Kong, and if you know the story, well, you know the story.

If you've got a top-notch theater set up, it's an absolute blast, as this movie caters to the viewer with the dynamic, dedicated theater setup with a top notch base. It embellishes a bit for the sake of that.

If you're watching on a 27-inch with no surround, could be a long sitting.

Plus, you've got the social issues surrounding the movie that ticked off some of the black community. NO, I'm not getting into that though.

I can't wait to get this DVD.

I absolutely loved the movie. Peter Jackson is the king.

King Kong was one of the better movies released last year, I'd say.

Having the camera on kong for 10 minutes while he yells and throws his arms around does nothing to flesh out the characters. Having people stare at each for extended periods of time does nothing to flesh out the characters.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

Why would you bring that up at all? You obviously wanted someone to say something about it.

I read about the supposed "controversy", which stems from the original by the way, and I just have to shake my head. If the original intent was to be racist, why do the supposed "leaders" of TODAY think that a remake would have the same intent? The sheeple mentality espoused by said "leaders" is abhorent. Give some credit to a biped with brains who chooses to see the movie. Don't tell them what to think.

It's almost as bad as all the doomsayers for the upcoming "DaVinci Code" film (it will brainwash you because you can't think independently) or the outcry over "V for Vendetta" (anti-Christian, anti-capitalist, pro-terror). Do these "people" even see the movies or TV shows (as in NBC's "Book of Daniel")?

You have to be kidding me? Is there a reason you would even say that? Either like the movie or don't, don't bring your own agenda's into it.

Keep this on the movie, nothing else.

Believe me, I don't. I don't see how an agenda could be tied to this movie, but it was. It was called a racist movie, and it was a big story for a few days. CNN and Fox did segments on it.

Let's move on. No need to revisit that.

I just watched it for the first time. Thought it was good. Dragged for the first part...but once it got started it was very, very well done.
