I was looking at circuit city and granted they don't have what you just gave me but, they do have that receiver and it says my car ( required installation ) I would need an XM Direct Smart Digital Adapter??? Or do i not need to look at that on their site?

With XM, you have to purchase that digital adapter specifically for Sony radios along with a universal XM tuner. The link at Crutchfield is a package for the adapter and the tuner...some places sell them separately, which must be the case with Circuit City.

For Sirius, they sell a different tuner for each brand of radio...one unit that contains all of the parts.

        Hope this helps...

Nope....lol, I can get those two things in the cruthcfield page but, for my car it says I would need to spend an extra 49 bucks for the XM Direct Adapter.. (I have an 89 Camaro)

See this is what its saying for required install

The first link is for a Panasonic radio, which you do NOT need...the second one is what you would need for your Sony radio. That part + the universal tuner (around $100 total) is what you would need from Circuit City to get XM in your car, and don't forget the monthly subscription as well. Those two parts (tuner and adapter) from Circuit City are the same that Crutchfield is selling together as a package.

Alright so let me get this right.....All I would need to get is the package from Crutch instead of going with CC correct?

No problem...glad I could help out.

I bet you could do it yourself, it is really easy if you have ever removed your stereo before...it would save you at least $50 to get it installed.

It is fairly easy, but if you haven't done it before I wouldn't recommend it. I am sure that a local car stereo shop would install it...they might even have the XM stuff instead of ordering it from Crutchfield. I would go to a local shop before I went somewhere like CC or Best Buy.

XM, they have great units and are WAAAAAAY ahead of Sirius in that, and the fact that "Hoo Hoo" Howard is a blackhole of money for them, and XM has Opie and Anthony, plus XM has Ron and Fez, all the people on Howard's station have to brown nose him all the time, it sucks to listen to that crap. the only thing Sirius has is NFL, but I think XM will get that in a few years. XM is just run better and will end up taking over Sirius.
I've heard this "patience is a virtue" junk all my life. I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!
