Yea, some still keep the vinyl around incase someone request a really old song. To me, it makes no sense to do it all digitally. Hell, DJing will become extinct if Ipods and Laptops take over. It sort of takes away the essence of Djing if you dont got the good ol fashoin turn tables.

Re: What's the big deal about I-Pod?

I had a sony minidisc player for a while, but the discs didnt have a large capacity and it kept breaking. With my warranty I kept getting a new one, but now that the warranty is up i decided a few weeks ago that it was time to upgrade.

Since I am a music LOVER (always have headphones on, its like my trademark) I decided that I'm not gonna skimp on quality. I'm gonna drop some real money, since this is something I use often. After researching players alot, I decided to get a 30 GB Zen Vision M (by creative labs). All the reviews I found were phenomenal (sans Ipod fanboys who would literally rate it low to bring the average score down), and after searching all of chicago, (many many stores were sold out) I copped one and havent regretted it since (though it does cost a grip... $300).

      Some perks:

      - Plays more video formats than the Ipod
      - Not limited to Itunes
      - More colors and better resolution
      - Shows album art when songs are playing
      - Synchs up with microsoft outlook (havent used this feature but i guess it means you can put your schedule and contacts in the player)
      - Can set aside a certain amount of memory to use as a storage device
      - FM player and recorder (can label pre-sets as well)
      - Voice recorder (just used this to interview one of my teachers for a class)
      - original earbuds have great sound quality
      - A shortcut button that you can program to do whatever function you want (all players should have one of these).
      - A "DJ" that performs various functions like spinning an "album of the day"
      - 5 different player colors to choose from (Black, White, Blue, Green, Pink)

I've only had the player for about three weeks now, but I love it. I would reccomend it to anyone. I have my whole music collection on it along with:
      - 5 wrestling matches
      - 4 T-Mac mixtapes
      - Busta Rhymes "touch it remix" video
      - Dave Chappelle killin em softly
      - 14 episodes of Fastlane in great quality (with hopefully more to come!)

Sweet, so those speakers sound pretty good, huh? I saw one of those in Best Buy a while back and was a little tempted to get it, but decided to hold off. How many songs does the 2GB Nano hold? 500-ish? I have the 4GB one and I don't think I even have it half full yet.
