I forgot to mention Jimmy Eat World. They are really good also.

Not sure if these have been mentioned yet, but if not, definitely check these bands out. I don't listen to much rock anymore, but when I do, it's usually one of the following:

        Supergrass
        British Sea Power
        The Music
        Bloc Party
        Interpol
        The Killers
        The Black Keys
Black Motor Rebel Motorcycle Club (the following two have already been mentioned)
The Get Up Kids (they've got a lot of albums out and most of them sound have a unique sound, so if you don't like one of their albums, that doesn't mean you won't like another. My personal favorite is "Eudora")

Cartel - Chroma is amazing. Also like someone else was saying, Taking Back Sunday's new album sounds good. I like it better than their older stuff.

Listen to Built to Last for a good idea of what they're capable of. Also if you can, I know that these songs aren't on there, but try and locate Rhythm of Rain, Drive Away, Can't Hold On, and For a Lifetime.

Co-sign. Alice is my favorite band and I'm not really a Ryan Adams fan, but it is a good cover.
