Found a GREAT decoder to convert MPEG's to AVI's, sync's up the audio perfectly and usually packs down the file size from anywhere to 10-50% with ZERO loss of quality.

whats the decoder called? All i really know of thats decent for avi is divx and or xvid... what else is there?

just got this 2 days ago and loving it.
Im looking for a case now, just wondering what u guys are using.
Im torn between a silicon case from podsplus or a leather case. what u guys think? i wish they made a aluminum case like the ipod...

These things suck I had mines for about 4 months before it completely died on me. The think will start malfunctioining within like 6 months. If you check out the Creative Zen boards you will hear tons of horror stories about the "black screen of death". Enjoy it now because these things are amazing when the function but be prepared and get a warranty.

I honestly can't believe how they let these get on the market. Creative doesn't care though because they just put out newer versions of their crap that appease the eye.

A friend of mine is getting a Zen M and was having me look up the accessories....that's when I stumbled on this:

$180 and some change with free shipping. That is the same price as a 4G Sansa e260, so no comparison. I didn't do my homework until it was too late that while the e260 plays videos...they have to be converted to .mov and are chopped into 10 minute clips. Plus the screen size is only 1.8 vs. the 2.5 of the M series.

$180 is so tempting especially for 30Gigs.

I've had mine since Spring, and love it still. I use it almost every day.

I have the silicon case and the screen protector. One of the best purchases I've made in forever. At work people ask to see it, then end up buying one for themselves.

how's the battery holding up? my zen micro only lasted like 6-8 hrs after a year and a half..

so far im loving it...video and 30 gigs. wow! I have to get a travel charger and just bought a podsplus skin

Fine. Depends on how much video you watch. But I charge mine every 7-10 days probably, and that's when it's 1/3 full still.
