Maybe he's good looking or they thought his voice was unique enough to make them stand out. I'd bet they were just high school friends though. When forming a band at that age it isn't about who can actually sing, it is about who has the guts to sing in front of people.

While my interest in them has gone down in the past year, there is no doubt that they put on an excellent show.

I never knew this about them...

While still unnamed, the band asked the audience at a college show what their band should be called, and an audience member yelled out "Fall Out Boy." This is the name of superhero Radioactive Man's sidekick Fallout Boy, on the animated TV show The Simpsons. The band claim that, at the time, they were unaware of the character.

Sounds like a good story to avoid legal troubles with The Simpsons

I watch the Simpsons, but I honestly can't remember that either. *shrug*

The episode where they film a Radioactive Man movie in Springfield. Bart tries out for the part of his sidekick(Fall Out Boy) and is perfect, but not quite tall enough. Millhouse ends up getting the part even though he doesn't really want it. Hilarity ensues.

Foo Fighters put on a good show. They pretty much play their songs straight from the albums, they sound good, but they don't expand on them much. Grohl is a really funny guyso that makes for a good time between songs. They aren't one of the best live bands I've seen, but if you want to hear them belt out their hits as you hear them on the albums, and have some laughs in between, they are good at that.

yeah David is really funny, did you see the music video he did with Jack Black. I can't remember the song, but the video was so freaking funny!
I didn't realize he was a that awesome on the drums, I like the Nirvana, but I never knew how great he was. I guess he is a legend Seattle.

He is one of the best drummers in the world whenever he decides to play them. He is from Northern Virginia, not really sure how Cobain found him, not really sure what Grohl was doing pre-Nirvana.

Interesting you say that, I've always thought the opposite was true. I am more of a fan of that uncut raw sound, then the over produced crap that gets put on CD's.

But then again, I'm talking real punk rock, not stuff like Sum41.

It was the video for "Low" off of One By One.

He was in a number of DC punk bands before he headed out to Seattle, I think the only one that ever really made a mark was Scream.
