Best Foreign Movies

I have seen Downfall (my favorite), Das Boot, Paradise Now and Stalingrad. I have always heard about how great Amelie is. The War Within is suppose to be a movie similar to Paradise Now.

What are some of your favorite foreign movies?

There an interesting sounding (but long) Italian movie on my On Demand service that I think i'll watch called "best of youth" or something like that. I'll let you all know how I like it next week or so.

"Downfall" is one of the best films i have seen. Its about the last days of hitler in his bomb shelter.

Nirgendwo in Afrika, or Nowhere in Africa here in the states, is an amazing movie as well.

A Very Long Engagement is something I watched recently, and absolutely loved.

Man without a past is a finnish film, a bit of an odd comedy, but brilliantly done.

All of these are more recent movies, and I highly recommend Downfall for anyone to watch, an amazing movie.

As a pure foreign film...City of God.

I'm not a big fan of movies with subtitles throughout the whole movie BUT this movie kepted my interest.

Subtitles are infinitely better than dubbing. No matter how good the movie is, dubbing just brings down the quality.

Y Tu Mama Tambien is a great Mexican movie also.

I second Run Lola Run as that was shown in my film classes in college and also Amelie.
