Has extreme fan interest pushed ESPN to cover the NFL draft wall to wall or did ESPN decide to do it themselves?
I get ESPN radio and it seems like everytime I turn it on, it's about the NFL draft. It has been like this for the past 3 weeks. But I have the power to simply turn the dial or shut off the radio.
I can't believe a country as big as the USA only has one channel (I group ESPN/ESPN2/ESPNEWS together) that covers sports 24/7 on tv.
In Canada we have 3 choices: TSN, Sportsnet, The Score.

Well, there's the Fox Sports/Comcast regional stations.

And of those three stations I would guess that all of them show a lot of hockey.

Let me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)
Even in the off-season, football gets more press than the NBA Finals or the Olympics/World Cup.
I mean... who gives a flying f*** if Joey Harrington looked good in passing drills? No need to give him a 5 minute segment with highlights of passing in practice.
And what else do we need to know about Vince Young, Matt Leinart and Reggie Bush? I'm really interested to see if they wear boxers/briefs, what's their favorite type of pizza and when their first kiss was. In fact, we need to have a weeklong series on SportsCenter devoted to that, instead of watching the stupid World Cup or Stanley Cup or NBA Finals or MLB Regular Season.
I'm tired of football and the 23.6 hours a day it takes up on ESPN or any other sports media outlet.
As much as I hate agreeing with a Gators fan, I have to do so 110% here. In a normal year, sure, I would have an interest in the NFL Draft. Hell, I even enjoy watching the NBA Draft although I haven't had more than a passing interest in it for about a decade now. But what has happened with ESPN and the NFL Draft this year is just completely out of control. I gave up even caring the slightest bit about this year's draft months ago, and they have only gotten increasingly worse since then. You can only hear comparisons between Young, Leinhart, and Cutler so many times before you just stop giving a crap. And it's not even like there have been any major developments since the combine, or really since the Senior Bowl week when Cutler made his mark. I doubt I'll watch even ten minutes of the draft this weekend I'm so sick and tired of it. Really sad since I would normally watch as much of it as possible both Saturday and Sunday. I'll be lucky to even check and see who got drafted where and when before sometime Monday morning.
I don't understand why ESPN and all the other ESPN networks overhype the draft so much. They almost never talk about the NBA, there's very little coverage of the NBA. This whole week I've been watching TNT's playoff coverage because that's the only good thing on at night. They've been talking about the draft forever and they only talk about the same top 5 players. Since they've been talking about it so much then they should have spent time on the players most people don't know about.
I love the draft, I look forward to it every year no matter who's in it. This year though, it was been over kill witht the same players that we've heard about for 4-6 months.
