Insurance Agent jobs..
I'm 22 and I graduate in May from College. I interviewed today for a position to become an Insurance Agent. I was offered the job and need to get back to them next week with my decision. I was just curious if anyone out there was an insurance agent and had any advice or what have you about the industry or anything in general. I appreciate it in advance.Tags: None -
Re: Insurance Agent jobs..
I'm not an insurance agent, but the few people that I know that started off as insurance agents all moved on to something else. So I look at it 2 ways, either the job wasn't that great, or while it wasn't great it gave them experience to move on to something else thereby helping in the long run.
At 22, I'd say take it if you have nothing else as an option. Get 2 or 3 years experience and then you can move on to something else if it doesn't suit you.Comment

Unless you have a strong entreprenurial personality, it probably isn't for you. You'll most likely have to generate your own leads, and even if you are provided leads, they might not be that strong.
In insurance, you can make a lot of money, get by, or starve. It all depends on how hard you work. If you're a hard worker, you'll be compensated. If not, well it won't take you long...
Anyway, you can make good money, but the real money is in having your own branch or office. But, that also carries a ton of legal and moral responsibility.Comment
