Yeah, I saw them in concert with Devil Driver (singer from Coal Chamber), and In flames.
Go to there myspace page they have a great cover of Metallica's - Master of Puppets.

They're decent. I've seen them open for Danzig and at Ozzfest (almost went to that In Flames show too). Ascendancy is a pretty good album (and song, for that matter).

I don't mean to bring an ancient topic back from the dead but tomorrow is the official release of the new Trivium disk Shogun.

It is awesome from what i've heard and I will be picking it up tomorrow after school, anyone else doing so?

Huge bump, but I just picked up Shogun yesterday, and holy crap. I'm blown away by these guys. From what I hear, this album is a mix of both of their last two CD's, but I can't picture them being any better than this.

Into the Mouth of Hell We March is one of the best metal songs I have ever heard, without doubt.

What really makes me laugh is the hatred this band gets for no apparent reason, other than that they are young.

The Crusade is one of my favorite albums of all time. If Metallica released that album, it would be considered an instant classic. But because a bunch of 22yr olds released it, they're fakers riding the coat-tails of Metallica's success 20 years after they were relevant.

Trivium is an awesome band, I saw them at Mayhem Fest last year and also saw them open for Slipknot last year too. They are great live and they have some awesome CD's, they are hitting the studio in January for their next album as well so more new material isn't all that far off.

Loved all of their CDs. Been jamming to Shogun recently also.

Throes of Perdition, Down from the Sky, Shogun, Insurrection and Like Callisto to a Star in Heaven are my favorites.

They have a new drummer now and you can hear him on the single "Shattering the Skies Above" off of the God of War EP.

I've heard that they are actually in studio recording new material

Trivium and Sylosis sound pretty similar. "Conclusion of an Age" by Sylosis is a good album from a couple years ago if you're a fan of Trivium.

Picked up Trivium's new album In Waves today. Definitely digging it so far. Much more along the lines of Ascendancy, but it's got a good mix of all their sounds.

Standout track so far is definitely "Caustic Are The Ties That Bind".

I've really enjoyed it.

I like their older CDs better, but that doesn't mean I don't like this one. After a few more listens and a little time, I may even like this one the best.

Glad to know I'm not the only one around here who listens to metal.
