A guy down the street from me owns a shop that specializes in mods and upgrading car etc. He's an enthusiast at heart. He's in the middle of a Supra project. It's gonna be a monster. Take some pics when you are done.Originally posted by RockinDaMike
Anyway next project that me and bro are gonna do is a 96 supra, and its gonna be a beast!
I haven't modded my Z too much, just intake, Nismo catback exhaust and the Volk LE37 Gunmetal rims. Didn't add a lot of horsepower, but I get a little better mileage, a little more upper end horsepower, sounds a little more throaty than the car did stock, and I like the rims a lot more than the stock ones.Comment

Re: The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift
Sadly, I have none either. My parents gave me a Civic to drive for a while after my brother totalled my 300zx when I was in college. Their statement was something like, no more nice cars for you guys. Worst part, it was the crappy trim. No AC, power steering or windows. And it had that stupid automatic seatbelt that strangled me every time I got in the car.Originally posted by Acid:y4:

Damn I hated that POS. Had it for about a year, graduated college and bought a Mustang GT.Comment

Sadly, I see an awful lot of those.Originally posted by Pared
They usually pull up next to me at a stoplight, rev up their engines and give me the look. I usually am laughing so hard, I can't even drive, and the person behind me has to honk because I Am sitting there at idle and the light has turned green.Comment

Power steering, power brakes, AC.
Only problem, is my sister burned holes in the interior because she would put out cigarettes on the seats because she's an idiot. Also, with her smoking for 2 years before it was my car, it has sort of a perma-cigarette smell. All my friends think I smoke because the smell just won't go away. :y4:Blind to this impending fate

Re: The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift
I enjoyed the first two movies. I didn't expect them to be more than they were though either. I enjoyed seeing the tweaked out cars and there is no denying the first started a craze of car modification; for better, and worse.
Civics, Preludes, Integras, can all be modified well. They can also be modified poorly. A nice modded car, regardless of make/model, is unique and enjoyable to behold.
Regarding the movies. They were never driven by plot or acting. They were driven by racing cars and being trendy. They were also successful on that level. To me popular movies are like popular fiction. One doesn't realistically put The Da Vinci Code on the same level as one of Ian McEwan's or Philip Roth's novels, but it is likely just as, or perhaps more, enjoyable to read. The Fast and the Furious movies are like The Da Vinci Code, in that they are enjoyable to experience, but not much more than that.
It's nice to see the Nissan Z as one of the featured cars in the movie, and I'll always appreciate watching nice looking cars driving fast/dangerously. The plot will be corny, and the characters will be thinly represented, but neither will be vital to the movie's success.Last edited by Jimplication; 05-18-2006, 02:23 PM.Enjoy football? My Civic is the same body style as yours BK. Civic Si, hatchback, five speed, AC, sunroof, original black Si paint, 2004 SI wheels (alloy), lowered, intake, and thats about it. Well, and upgraded system.
Nothing special, but nothing flashy. I'm sure I will sell it when I get out of college, but car has been great for the past four years.Comment
