    Summer Reading Suggestions

So, I need some good books to read over the summer (yes, for my own entertainment).

I've looked into The Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons, and both look to be pretty good. I've also looked into the books by the author of Mystic River, a few look to be good reads.

Any specific books I should really look into? Any genre will do, really.

I highly recommend A Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole. It's one of the funniest novels I've read, and it's very well done. It's set in New Orleans and tells the tale of a thirty year old man that lives with his mother, and the various situations he gets himself into as a result of his personality. The book is easily one of the top three I've read to date, and I've read quite a bit.

I hated Brave New World. Had to read that for Senior English in HS. Now Tail of Two Cities I liked very much.

Book 1 of A Song of Ice and Fire: A Game of Thrones.

IMO its easily the best fantasy series out there.

It depends on what your interested in it's hard to just suggest a book to someone. I saw someone say Confederacy of Dunces and that is a great book, I agree with the poster who mentioned it, one of the best novels I've ever read. I liked the Da Vinci code and Angels and Demons a lot. I read Freakonomics and I enjoyed that as well. I'm really into non fiction right now. I read a ton of sports books so if anyone is interested in those I can recommend a few. If you like baseball though I highly highly recommend Moneyball. If your into U.S. History Howard Zinn's People's History of the U.S. is very interesting. Fight Club is also a great book, wish I had read it before I saw the movie.
