      Soon.

I'm less than 24 hours away. Midnight release, 3 hours or so of sleep and work. Fun times ahead but it will be worth it for this movie. Been waiting too long not to go.

You should look online for the Howard Hughes Center. They still have showings for their IMAX available for Friday late night.
No, not IMAX, digital projection. DLP.

My buddies got 4 tix to Arclight Hollywood on Friday night. Not on the digital screen, but eh. Should be awesome either way.

Oh yeah I figured you knew what IMAX was, that was dumb of me to say that LOL. I have no idea about screens so I'm a noob.

Anyway the Arclight is an AWESOME theatre. Should be a fun time. Coincidentely [sp] there are 4 of us going as well Friday night [1:25 AM] at the Irvine Spectrum to see it in IMAX. Softball game=win. Drinks at the bar/holler at girls before the movie=win. TDK=win. Can't wait.

Yeah man, they just opened one up by me in Sherman Oaks, but we're going to the Hollywood one. You guys aren't gonna get out of the movie until like 4am! I think our tix are for 11:30 or something.

Arclight is pricey, but if they were to build one out here or even in Orange County I would probably go with them more often than not. Something about it really gets to me. The one in Hollywood is a sweet sweet little spot.

And yeah when I heard it was over two hours I was hyped even more. So what that I have work at 9 AM on Saturday.

It's worth it, dude. You dont get idiots over there. It's all about the movie experience at that theater. Assigned seating is awesome also.

                  Re: The Dark Knight Discussion

The Century theater out here is DLP and thats where Im going to see it, cant wait. They sold out for the 12:01 showing already, but they are showing it on 4 screens, 12:01/12:05/12:10/12:15 so there should be enough showings for everyone, and as weird as I thought it was, they are doing a 12:01 showing for Mamma Mia as well, not sure why, didnt think it had the following to warrant it.

In terms of a 12:01 showing, is there a general rule about how early to show up to get good seats? I was thinking of getting there at 11:00 but wasnt sure if that wasnt needed since that seems pretty early and they probably wont even be seating people yet. Just curious as Ive only been to one 12:01 showing of a movie in the past and I got there at the last second and was forced to watch LOTR from the first row, left with the worst pain in my neck imaginable. Thanks to anyone with any insight on this.

                    What's DLP?

Sorry if that's a dumb question.

Fly, there's one in Sherman Oaks where I live. That one just opened up. There's also one in Hollywood which has been there for a few years now.

Bruins, DLP is basically digital projection. I don't even know how to explain it. The picture is CRYSTAL clear. It's almost like watching a movie in HD v. SD. For more info, go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital...tal_projection

Interesting, is it different than IMAX?

Also, check this out, it's from the website of the theater I'm going to:

I'm not going at midnight though, gonna wait until 3:00pm Friday so hopefully it will be less crowded.

Edit: Oh and also, you can see the little icons up in the top right. Apparently the "DV" is for "Digital Film & Digital EX Surround Sound"... probably the same DLP thing you're talking about?
