Speaking of female track athletes, I've always thought Cathy freeman was fine.

I was about to ask the same question. Just beat me to it.

To answer Graphik, yes, I think women should be athletes. They should do whatever they want. It's their world just as much as it is men's.

Do I find women attractive that play sports? Really depends on the woman. No one sport has more attractive girls than the other. All of that is honestly based on opinion.

Ask every man that is married to a WNBA player and chances are he's going to say, "I like basketball chicks."

I wouldn't date a chick that is bigger than me. It can be fat, muscle, or just pure natural weight that makes her bigger than me. I wouldn't date her. I have my likes and dislikes and sports has nothing to do with it.

Funny thing is, I rather have a girl that doesn't know much about sports, but at least appreciates that I enjoy them. Perhaps in a guy (I want to know everything) kinda way I enjoy educating a girl on sports. It's cute to me (and I don't use the word cute) to see a girl struggle with the simple aspects of sports. That being said, I don't like airheads.

Re: Real Talk: Should women be athletes???

There are ugly males in sports, and ugly females in sports. There are also attractive types of both sexes in sports.

Females should definitely be able to take part in sports. I think it's ridiculous to suggest/believe that sports is an exclusive club for males only.

As for attractiveness of active females.. That definitely comes down to individual preference. On a general level though, I definitely find a girl I know is active be more attractive than one I know isn't, even if I haven't seen her yet.

Maintaining an active lifestyle is difficult and requires determination and dedication, two qualities I rank very highly in females. I'm active myself, and thus seek females that are also active. For me to start a life with someone that sits on the couch and eats Drake's Coffee Cakes all day seems stupid to me, as our interests will be greatly different from day one. I want to go hiking, she wants to see how many Twinkies she can get in her mouth without gagging. I'll go hiking alone and stay single in this case.

I feel you, I was taking a chick out to see the White Sox game sunday and she has no clue about the sport of baseball. Its basically a bonding experience teaching her the rules.

Anywho, in this world of male domination, women are slowly creeping into what was once known, or better yet, regulated to males. Its not that I dont mind them playing a sport, its the physical being that the female would have to apply to herself when playing a physical sport. For example boxing. Do I really want to watch 2 muscular females duke it out? I love the sport but I love attractive women even more so why would I want to watch 2 butch chicks sweat like oxes and beat blood out of eachother? It just does'nt seem right. There are just some sports you'd rather watch a male participate in rather than a female. Dont they already have "the Worlds Strongest Woman" competitions? Is that something that will really entertain me? Thats the questions I'm getting at.

            LMAO

Its really not about letting herself go cause she can be active without being an athlete. To sterotype the "perfect" woman would be one who stays fit. That can be just taking jogs everyday. Doing Arobics, going to the spa, swimming laps, whatever. We all know what the perfect size for a woman should be. They wave it at our face each waking moment on the internet, tv and movies. Hell, look at the UBO ads of late. This is the beauty that women desire and what men want. To play sports or be active as a athletic male would be would kill all of that.

Re: Real Talk: Should women be athletes???

I dated a few female athletes back in high school (No idea if any of the women in college were athletes). 1 basketball player, 1 soccer player and 2-3 track/cross country runners. 1 cheerleader as well.....if you consider that an athlete. I don't.

The basketball girl was the hottest of them all. Just incredibly attractive. Blonde, blue eyes and nice body.

The soccer player had the best legs obviously. Soccer chicks always seem to have very nice legs. Not muscular, but defined.

The track/cross country chicks were good looking as well, but they had that addiction to running. Always wanted to run.

Cheerleader was fit, but tiny. She was the most annoying of them all. That didn't last.

I've always preferred girls who were more athletic. In my experience, they always seem to take better care of themselves and have more energy. In other words, they don't sit on the couch eating bon-bons all day.

Anyhow, I don't find the real muscular women to be attractive or even someone like Venus Williams (she seems pretty muscular to me, but not ripped muscular). Nor would I want to watch women boxing or in a strong woman competition. Those types just don't do it for me.

Although I did work with a guy who used to drool over those strongwoman chicks. Never quite understood that one.

man do i love soccer girl legs. And i gotta say atheletic girls were pretty much really good in the sack too so i dont' mind as long as they aren't butch like other posters. A lot of times they keep in shape, are healthy so why wouldn't a guy want a atheltic gf.

What do you mean, equal conditions? I like the LPGA, but there are very few women that could be even remotely competitive on the PGA tour. Or am I missing something here?

Like most guys I don't really want to see women engaging in violent sports like, football or boxing(We've been conditioned to have certain ideas about women), but I am attracted to the female jock, fitness model type.http://www.oxygenmag.com/main.php?page=5&id=270
I don't go in for the female Arnold look, but I do like a certain amount of physicality.

The older I get the harder it is for me to look at things from a narrow, selfish point of view. So I would say that those women who are heavily involved in athletics, even to the point of being unattractive to a large percentage of the male population, are probably much more healthy physically and emotionally because of it.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

If you mean, "the future for televised women's sports", I highly doubt it. The majority of people who watch women's sports are men, and they tend to watch sports featuring attractive women (ie, tennis). If there were lots of prominent attractive players in the WNBA, interest would undoubtedly be higher.

If women watched women's sports with regularity, you might be right, as presumedly they'd put a premium on athleticism over attractiveness. But I've known very few women who pay attention to women's basketball, hockey, softball, golf, etc. UNLESS they were already fans of the male equivalent. The only sport that women watch in large numbers is figure skating.
