Ren: You like Men At Work?
Willard: what men?
Ren: Men at work.
Willard: well where do they work?
Ren: No, they're a music group.
Willard: well what do they call themselves?
Ren: Oh no! What about the Police?
Willard: What about 'em?
Ren: You ever heard them?
Willard: No, but I seen them.
Ren: Where, in concert?
Willard: No, behind you.Comment

parents: what do you want for Christmas
kid: I dunno..... I guess a CD by U2?
parents: us?
Anyway....ya, a best hits would be the way to go. BTW, was Sting more full of himself when he was with the Police or after? This may be rhetorical.Comment

Re: The Police
I second the idea behind some sort of greatest hits compliation. But if you want one record, I think "Ghost in the Machine" is the band's best, melding the earlier, reggae-influenced work with the more pop-driven direction the band was headed with "Synchronicity."
Take care,

Re: The Police
Thanks for the suggestions guys. I think I've narrowed it down between Outlandos D'Amour and Zenyatta Mondatta.

Re: The Police
I ordered Outlandos d'Amous through yourmusic.com and the CD came today. Fantastic album. It gives off a reggae/punk vibe. "Next To You" and "Hole in My Life" are probably my favorite tracks at the moment.

Re: The Police
Interesting. I went into my local record store looking for Art Brut's "Bang Bang Rock & Roll" but came up empty handed. While browsing I found Zenyatta Mondatta on sale for $7.99 and I couldn't resist because I love Outlandos d'Amour. Awesome album.

Re: The Police
If anyone cares, Oysterhead is rumored to be touring this Fall. They feature Trey Anastasio (Phish) on guitar, Les Claypool (Primus, etc) on bass, and Stuart Copeland (Police) on drums. If they come near you, they're definitely worth a look. Absolutely killer stuff.Helen: Everyone's special, Dash.

Re: The Police
I'm just curious. Can anybody tell me what their album names mean? Outlandos d'Amous, Zenyatta Mondatta, etc.
