    Re: The Police

Those albums came out when I was in college and we were asking the same thing. My roommate told me the third one to follow was gonna be called "medulla oblongata" .

I don't think they'll ever rejoin.....weren't they generally feuding and splintered while together for the most part?

Yep, too much ego. But that sort of friction generally is what makes a good band. Unstable energy and friction usually leads to great music. But unfortunately that usually means a quick ascent and descent. It's impossible for some guys to realize they're in a good situtaion.

Exactly. And it's what makes U2's run so remarkable. The band has been together for 29 years with no lineup changes, no breakups, just one unofficial hiatus between "Joshua Tree" and "Achtung Baby."

        Take care,

Although I have heard recently the other band members are getting a little tired of Bono's activism. But at the end of the day they know where the $$$ are so I'm sure they won't bitch too much.

            Re: The Police

As much as it pains me to say this, I don't think the Police getting back together would work out too well. I feel like Sting has lost the fire to make great music. His last few albums, while exhibiting great craftsmanship as usual, seems to come from a man who is settled and comfortable with his life. Thats great for him as a person, but not so good for him as an artist.

Skill and talent can produce good music, but great music can only come from pain and deep introspection.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.
