I liked the remake as much as I liked the original. The original was just crazy though, especially the last 15 minutes. Its like nothing but screaming.

Just watched the trailer, looks pretty good. Glad to see they used the same family from the remake. I don't know why there is such a big deal about the trailer though, I didn't find it that scary or over the top violent compared to other horror trailers.

I still think that's one of the freakiest movie trailers I've ever seen. I remember it was me and 3 of my friends watching something and they showed that trailer, we were all like 'holy sh**'.

I just came back from this. This is a prequel of the first one, so it gives a little more insight on how the first one became what it was (Leatherface, the cop, the cripple, the butcherhouse, etc.)... but essentially, it was the same kind of movie. Nothing new here. Great horror. Probably not for the squeemish.

friends said it was one of the bloodest movies they've ever seen... Made one want to throw up due to so much gore... but overall they said it was just an average horror movie.

It was so very much like the first one (well, unless you consider this "the first one"), that if you weren't a fan of that one, don't see it. But, if you liked the first one, and you don't mind seeing variations of the first one, go see it. It's not a bad movie... just redone. But I'll be a sucker for it and see them every time.

This movie most certainly had scenes where people might have wanted to throw up... but according to Darren Bousman (Saw III director), if his hype is all true, Saw III will outdo this one.

This reminds me of Team America

" I miss you more than Michael Bay missed the mark
                when he made Pearl Harbor.

I miss you more than that movie missed the point
and that's a lot girl. And now, now you've gone away
and all I'm trying to say is Pearl Harbor sucked
                and I miss you.

I need you like Ben Affleck needs acting school.
He was terrible in that film.
I need you more than Cuba Gooding needed a bigger part.
He's way better than Ben Affleck and now,
all I'm trying to say is Pearl Harbor sucked and I miss you.

Why does Michael Bay get to keep on making movies.
I guess Pearl Harbor sucked just a little bit more than
                I miss you."

Actually, I'll re-state what I said earlier. He did not direct it, but there was something in the opening credits about him. Maybe it was "presented" by him or something.

Producer. One of four I think.

He was probably responsible for the car wreck scenes.

It was "in association with Michael Bay". Anyhow, I thought it was decent, I liked the 2003 version better though. I think this one was primarily just a gore fest. It did wrap up a couple of things in the movie before this one which was kinda cool.

Serious question for those that have seen the movie:

Did Diana Baird (the hot blond - the same one from Wedding Crashers) get naked? And if so how was it?

Definitely a brutal and violent movie. A few jump-out-a-your-seat moments, but not really scary.
