Just got back from the movie and I am a huge Transformers fan. The movie was awesome. Action scenes non-stop throughout the movie and they got most of the transformers fairly accurate. The only gripe I had is that they used Bonecrusher and Devastator, when Bonecrusher is one of the constructacons who forms Devastator.

Can't wait till I see the movie again though. I'm going to have to go digging through my closet to find all my old Transformers tapes so I can watch them again.

Yeah, just to touch on the JJ Abrams trailer. That was probably the best trailer I've seen in a long, long time. Why? Because everyone said "Woah, what the hell was that?!" at the end of it.

It did a PERFECT job.

Nobody misses the original transforming sound effect in the movie?

I don't know about other people but I believe they used the original sound effect when transforming in the movie. When I watched it and heard the transformation I was like "Hey, its just like the cartoons!"

Agreed. I had seen it prior to Pirates (I think) but between that one and the JJ Abrams trailer, those are two movies I will definitely see and they both release within a month of each other too.

I didn't see I Am Legend in the previews for Transformers, but I did see it before Pirates. It looks great.

WOW. That sure as hell made up for Spiderman 3. This movie was insane! Had a sheepish grin the entire time.

Whomever mentioned it was comparable to Jurassic Park was spot on! The film just felt... "epic!"

So true. I had a feeling of disappointment during Spiderman 3 almost the whole movie whereas I just thoroughly enjoyed Transformers. It was great and I swear both me and my wife would like to see it again (which is rare).

Any idea how much $$$ GM had to pony up to have exclusivity with the vehicles?

edit: You guys need to check out the Wiki page here, lots of cool information about filming and other pre-production stuff. This was the first movie to shoot at the Hoover Dam and at the Pentagon since 9/11.

On May 30, 2007, Dreamworks greenlit two sequels to Transformers and Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox and Peter Cullen signed on to return. Producer Tom DeSanto has envisioned a storyline introducing the Dinobots, the Constructicons, and Soundwave. Writers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman may not return, as "Star Trek... is taking up kind of all of our time." Michael Bay has not signed on, "trying to keep some leverage for the negotiations", but already has ideas, including an aircraft carrier character.

They don't really need any writers, they didn't really do much anyway. They need to keep Michael Bay though.

Easily the most entertaining movie I've seen in a LONG time.

Really...I don't even know what to say. I thought it was put together perfectly. It didn't drag at all to me, the human scenes were fantastic and did a great job foiling the battle scenes. Plus, for ONCE the "love" story in the movie was actually well done. It wasn't shoved down our throats and actually flowed.

Nah, I honestly never felt like it dragged. The only slow part that they didn't need was, probably, the mini "interrogation" scene.

I agree. Those parts with the English chick and her nerd squad felt out of place and disrupted the flow of the movie for me. I thought her character was going to amount to something in the end, but after she discovered S7 her scenes were useless.
