My thought is that being able to post You Tube links here is sweet.

    Entwistle is really good too.

Thanks for posting that. RIP, Ox! I saw him during The Who's Quadrophenia tour in the 90s and he was awesome. Definitely one of the great bass players of our time and seeing him thump out "The Real Me" live was one of the highlights of my concert-going lifetime.

As for the best bass player I've ever seen, well....

      And....

Dash: [muttering] Which is another way of saying no one is.

I saw him as well, sweet bro! We have similar tastes.

I'd say awesome link, and yea possibly at the very least one of the greatest of all time.

Anything I ever saw him "Thump out" was easily the most awesome Bass playing I've ever seen live.

Good stuff, Stanley Clarke sp? does a hell of a job also. Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers is also very good.

Sherik or Boltman, do you have any albums with Victor Wooten and any bands he's involved in?

I can't vouch for Victor's solo stuff, but he plays bass in Bela Fleck's band, the Flecktones. Pound for pound, they're probably the most musically talented band I've seen live, but I will say they're a bit of an acquired taste. As they've matured they've gotten a little....self indulgent I guess you could say, but their older stuff like "Live Art" is really good.

Then you need to see Nickel Creek live to change that opinion.

                      I like:

                      Joe Lally (Fugazi)
                      Sting(Police Version)
                      Dave Pajo (Tortoise, Slint)
                      Pino Palladino (Session Player)

But you HAVE to give it up for:

                      Paul McCartney

                      Jack Bruce(Cream)

Don't know much of Victor Wooten's stuff, but he certainly wins the award for "Highest Slung Bass"

I drive a 2005 Toyota Prius Gas/Electric Hybrid. My last tank was 53.6 miles/gallon. Gas prices fear me!
