Thats just saying the same as we shouldn't have violent video games, or movies that show people doing drugs because that also has a profound negative effect of our youth too.

Street racing has been going on since the birth of the automobile, with or without the movie there are gonna be stupid kids driving fast.

In all honestly i really hope someone makes a good movie about racing. Kinda like how the Dale Ernhardt story was told but in the import scene. Because racing is one of the best rushes you can get but if done safely in a controlled enviroment like a track.

The Fast and the Furious is one of, if not the, worst movies I have ever had the displeasure of watching. Someone would have to pay me a large sum of money and provide me with an attractive woman to "watch" this movie with me in order for me to sit through it.

Re: The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift

Looks like pure crap to me as well. I won't even watch it when it's on free tv in a year. I also find it funny how they went out and got the "poor man's" version of Paul Walker (poor man version of Paul Walker-imagine that LOL) to play the main character (the guy who played the QB in Friday Night Lights-another similarity to Walker, who was in Varsity Blues).

This is yet another feeble attempt to cash in and make an easy buck by using the wonderful Hollywood formula of : moderately successful franchise + cheap young cast + at least 1 rapper for the "cool factor" and to bring the kiddies in + low shooting budget = profit. Movies like this personally make me want to projectile vomit, but if you want to waste your 10 bucks, feel free. I would rather give 10 bucks to a bum than have to sit through an hour and a half of steaming dung like this.

Doesnt matter, This movie makes street racing look cool. If street racing is just out there it might not catch on...But you get a huge movie people will follow.

Wasnt jumping over cars born when the automobile was around..I mean you could always do it. But then a TV show does it (Jackass) and some kid dies trying to do it..

              I think that makes sense

Don't single out this movie though. There's violence in other action movies too. Should people stop making those too?

I think people are overestimating the effect movies have on people. There are some idiots out there, but most people I would think are smart enough to know that street racing is wrong.

This thread is about this movie though and not about any other.......right? We can move this to the OS Neighborhood and have a debate about this all day/night long.

Thats what i thought..But then look at our society today.

Did you see the video of the guys bashing peoples cars ( dookie posted). And remember the guy who went on a rampage and blamed GTA.

Me personally i think its the environment you grow up in, and more closely your parents that influence you. Very early on they have to show you whats wrong and whats right.
