Whether you like NASCAR or not, that has to be one of the most spectacular crashes I've seen in my life (Bobby Allison's 1987 Talledega crash was pretty similar). If not for the HANS Device and the strength of those safety fences, possibly Carl Edwards and likely many fans would be dead right now (eight fans were injured and two went to the hospital as it is).

I was sitting in the Talladega Tower Row 58 seat 12 when this happend amazing to see in person. If you check out my myspace profile pics I have many shots from the weekend there and I have a shot of Edwards in the fence and the aftermath.
