Quick...Venom history for dummies:

Alien symbiot(what you see when Peter is lying down cling to his right arm) gets onto Earth, and attaches itself to Spiderman, fusing with his suit and making him faster, stronger, giving him the black suit, but also makes him darker, more evil. Peter/Spiderman then start to fight the darkness(Venom) in a inner struggle of good/morals Vs evil/power. The symbiot then leaves Parker and goes to Eddie Brock and you have Venom.

Somewhat correct...Venom and the symbiot are 2 seperate entities, so your quote regarding fighting the darkness (venom) is a tad off. The darkness is the symbiot that attaches itself to Peters spidey suit...Venom is when Eddie Brock combines with the symbiot itself. Venom != symbiot. Symbiot with Peter = Dark Spidey, not Venom.

I'm not an impatient guy but what sense does it honestly make when a movies is coming out next year and you're showing the trailer almost a year before? I mean, that's almost totally ********. It's a hot trailer but dang does that kill my buzz. On another note, Mary J. in the movie is Ron Howard's daughter?

If you go see Superman Returns you'll see this on the big screen. Aside from my displeasure with the look of the black costume, the trailer works to get you excited for the film.

Mary Jane in the movie is Kirsten Dunst. Howard's daughter plays Gwen Stacy.

JUST GOT BACK FROM SEEING SUPERMAN IT WAS GOOD, BUT SEEING THE SPIDEY TRAILOR BEFORE THE MOVIE STOLE SOME OF SUP'S THUNDER. I THOUGHT ABOUT SPIDER MAN 3 LIKE CRAZY THE WHOLE TIME WHILE WATCHING THE MOVIE! OH YEAH AND I'M NOT REALLY LIKING THE BLACK SUIT EITHER. WISH IT WAS MORE LIKE THE ONE IN THE COMICS. I ALSO WOULD'VE LOVED TO SEE VENOM IN THE TRAILOR.

for this exact reason. we're pre-reviewing a teaser trailer. movie makers release them, check the responds and make the neccesary adjustments. many of you are unhappy about the black suit, and the spidey symbol being too small. i bet by release, the symbol will be bigger and showing "more of a hold" on Spidey. that's a great symbolic way of showing the aliens effect on Parker/Spider-man. great trailer!...

Exactly... I was going to say, "Wait a minute, this movie comes out in 10 months, correct? So, everything is 'finalized', or are they still in 'post-prodcution'?"

I guess you answered my question.

I recall even the first teaser for War of the Worlds to not have had as many cars crushing the houses than in the final version. They even do small stuff like that.

For the big screen I actually like the changes they made in the style of the black suit. I just wish it was a little darker. It looks like $400 million plus at the box office for sure.

If they do a Spidey 4 with Vemon(its obvious they're setting that up) I honestly think it could make a run at Titanic for best domestic box office gross ever.

sadly I disagree... the sequal actually did less at the box office than the first movie.... although both did great numbers...

The sequel did make less, but with the addition of the black suit, I expect this one to at least match the numbers of the first one. Then the dueling red and black suits after that... you may be right, but I'm feeling it.

Movie looks effin sick. Sandman just looks badass...it's going to be cool to see what they do with the character's powers and such. I agree with above posters about Venom...wouldn't shock me to not actually see him until the very end. I think they'll use this movie to build the symbiote as evil and the struggles Peter/Spidey has with it and then have Brock finding it towards the end and transforming into Venom, in turn you have a perfect ending and holdover until the 4th movie which is inevitable.

I bet they debut Venom the same way they did in the comics, when his shadow just appeared in the last few panels of the issue where Spidey rid himself of the costume. Then we all get to wait and hope for a sequel. Really, its a smart move, because if this cast isn't going to return for a fourth one they'll need a little extra something to generate interest for the eventual Spider-Man 4. What better way to do that than to use Venom?

Seriously...he's the only part of this cast they need.

Kill off Harry, kill off MJ, I don't care...get Tobey back and have the 4th movie be all about Spidey Vs Venom...hell, if you need something else...throw in Carnage and have a freaking war.

I don't see how this movie could develop the Parker/Symbiote storyline, the Harry Osbourne storyline, and the Sandman storyline, and the Venom storyline all in one movie without stripping each of them of substance.

My guess is that they will set up Spiderman 4 with the Venom storyline starting at the end of Spiderman 3.
