The machine takes a certain percentage of what you dump into the machine and keeps it.Originally posted by xcelldarim31do you have to pay a fee when you dump your coins in??? (like when you take out money from an ATM that isn't your bank's atm).Comment

If you don't want to pay the fee, which isn't that high to begin with, then you can always roll your coins and cash them in at the bank.Originally posted by prvev2The machine takes a certain percentage of what you dump into the machine and keeps it.

 No fee.Comment

And a move to a worldwide currency is called socialism. I hope it never happens in my lifetime.

I wouldn't worry about it happening in your lifetime though so I guess you may resume wearing your tin foil hat.Comment

The same is now true of the Nickel as well.Originally posted by SPTOOne of the reasons people are thinking of dumping the Penny is that it actually costs 1.4 cents to make one penny. You know you have problems when the production costs more then the final product.Originally Posted by Briman123

At my bank they told me I didn't even have to roll them, still no fee. I used to go to Coinstar, but now I just go there, obviously.Originally posted by BigRedIf you don't want to pay the fee, which isn't that high to begin with, then you can always roll your coins and cash them in at the bank.

 No fee.

I don't really like pennies, but I don't see a reason to just throw my money away, even if it's only a penny.Comment

My daughter gets all my change from pennies to silver coins. She racked up almost 40 bucks in just 5 months and we counted it almost 5 months ago. I would say 5-10 bucks were from pennies. You guys must be silly to throw away any lose change. Coinstar is your friend.

My parents collected change for awhile, just to see what would happen. Well we went to florida and they counted up all the change.

 All 3 kids ( including me, obviously) got 80 dollars..From a bunch of change.Comment

Why don't we just go back to the barter system? So like when we go to buy Madden we'd give EBGames a guinea pig, 24 hamsters and a head of week old lettuce instead of $60.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20
