Pirates of the Carribean 2

The theatre I work at got the print of the movie yesterday afternoon. Because we're having a public midnight showing for it tonight, they let employees watch it last night... I only saw POTC1 once, but didn't really have a ton of excitement for the second. I will say that I really did enjoy the movie. It had (like the first) a comedic quality to it that you can't help but like. I think the fact that the enemy in this one is not immortal beings, but rather killable bad guys made it more enjoyable for me. The action isn't amazing, however it does what it's supposed to, suck you into it. I love the fact that no matter how serious a situation is, Depp makes you laugh with his eccentric character. I will say that I think a lot of people will be surprised/unhappy with the ending; but if I had thought about some common knowledge, I would've expected it.

well there is a 3rd one so I'm sure whatever the ending is will be fixed in the last one if that is possible...

I can't wait to see it on Friday.

Uh, there's nothing to "fix" with the ending in POTC 2. It's just a cliffhanger ending, to segue into the third movie.

In any case, I'm really excited to see POTC 2. I loved the first, and the second looks like a lot of fun.

I just watched number 1 again the other day with my girlfriend and still love it...I can hardly wait for this weekend.

I loved the first one and can't wait for this one. I hope to see it this weekend. So these octupus bad guys are pretty cool in this one? They look kinda weird in the previews.

For me it was the sword fight between Jack and Turner:

Turner: "You cheated."

Jack: "PIrate."


Also, Depp said his dialect for the movie was supposedly an amalgam of Keith Richards and somebody else.....anyone know?

Saw it Tuesday and enjoyed it a bit more than the first one.The action definitely picks up from the first movie.My second favorite summer movie next to Superman returns.

Any news on the "cliffhanger" from the first movie? With Barbossa's monkey stealing the coin after the credits...thus keeping the curse alive?

I also liked upon Jack's return to the cave after escaping the island for the second time and Captain Barbosa sees him:

Barbosa: It's not possible!

Jack: You mean, not probable.........


And the interchange with the 2 British guards toward the beginning is priceless.

I loved the first one. One of my favorite movies of all time. Can't wait for the sequel, it's a must see in the theaters.

Really liked the first one. Waiting for the DVD on the second one, like with almost all other movies ever.

I'm also really looking forward to seeing Keith Richards in the 3rd one....
