    Re: Emmy Nominations

I'm still surprised Hugh Laurie didn't get nominated as best actor in a drama series for House.
Regardless, I'm really happy Kiefer and 24 won, but I was hoping for Gregory Itzin (President Logan) and Jean Smart (Martha Logan) to win for best supporting in a drama series. I was holding out for a 24 sweep lol.

      Re: Emmy Nominations

I'm a little dissappointed at the Emmy's. First, I think Kyra Sedgwick should have won for Best Actress in a drama series for 'The Closer'. It's the only show I watch even though the writing is kinda weak. What keeps my interest in this show is Sedgwick and the supporting actors and actresses. None of the supporting actors and actresses are Emmy worthy alone BUT as a group they to me are the best.

As for '24', I'm glad the show and Kiefer finally won BUT what took the comittee so long to recognize the shows greatness? We're going on year 6 for Christ SAKES! This show should have started winning awards at least by year 2.

One last thing that bugged me was the 'Sopranos' being nominated. Now were the Sopranos nomiated for the shows they had earlier this year? Because that was pure garbage if you ask me. And I'm a big 'Sopranos' fan and what they show after almost two years in the waiting was the biggest letdown in the history of TV.

It was nice to see 24 win.

It was good to see Palmer and Tony. There was no sign of Dessler, President Logan, or Edgar on stage.

Somebody needs to shove a hamburger down Kim Raver's throat.

Logan was on stage, I saw him. He looked very disinterested in what was going on.

I'll have to watch the video again.

He was probably upset he didn't win earlier.

He was probably too concerned about going to prison for the rest of his life for treason!

I think the writing is good, but they certainly create a lot of "PerryMasonish" victories in the interrogation room. I agree that Sedgwick should have won.

Totally disagree with you Dice. I think no show touches the "Sopranos" in ANY year that it has been on.

I'm also a Curb Your Enthusiasm fan and that was heavily nominated. Good ****.

BTW, I'm a heterosexual male and did NOT watch these awards last night. Did not.

Also, Monk is a sick show. Anybody who doesn't think Tony Shaloub isn't a worthy winner for best actor in a comedy probably hasn't even seen the show. He's ridiculously good. I could also see Steve Carrel being a worthy candidate because he's absurd on The Office..
Agree, he is awesome as Monk, but the show is good, but I solve most of the crime before Monk! I have a strong memory and play attention to details, but that is probably because I work with criminals at the J Hall!

I think Itzin deserved to win Best Supporting Actor. The man made you HATE his character. He played the role so well, and should have won.

Cosign. I have never seen people hate an actor in addition to the character he plays like I saw with Itzin. He did an awesome job this year.

I've seen the show (wasted $30 and 5 hours of my life on the first season DVD) and think it's a "sick" version of "Murder She Wrote". Shaloub does a good job, but no way does he deserve 3 Emmys in 4 years.

Whatever the #$#$ that means. You sure were interested in the results of the show.

I thought his character was more pathetic then anything else.

That's exactly the problem I have with 'The Closer'. Mostly all the episodes are too predictable. BUT the interaction and dialog between the characters is the best I've seen from a TV show in a while. That's why I keep watching this show.

You've got to be kidding me on the Sopranos? The Sopranos WAS a good show but the recent season that they just aired was total garbage. I have a feeling that a lot of Sopranos fans would agree with me. No way they should have been nomiated this year. BTW, Sopranos couldn't touch '24'. Even in it's prime years.
