We'll I just got back from watching the Preview Screening. I definitely enjoyed the movie. Neil Marshall does an excellent job of "Keeping You" during the movie. @ no-time do you feel "Out-Of-Touch" with what's going-on.

The atmosphere of the movie is very intense @ times. It has it's shares of "SCARES", it also has some nice "GORE".... The mixture is done very well. The storyline is good... I don't want to get into too much detail as 2 give the movie away...

If you are a Horror Fan, then this is a MUST-SEE IMO. A excellent movie done by a very underratted director. I give it an 8/10...

Awesome.

Now I just need to convince someone to go see it with me.

Just got back....

I can describe it easily... AWESOME! One of the best horror films in a long time. Totally terrifying.

Trailers before the flick were great too, Wicker Man remake, Texas Chainsaw Massacre The Beginning, and Saw 3 (which has a custom city trailer, ours had Jigsaw talking about killing in Cleveland). That just pumped you up for thrill ride, great, great flick.

I saw it tonight, it was a very good movie. The part that got me wasn't the monsters but the claustrophobia of it all as it was very, very well done. I honestly felt the director could have omitted the monsters entirely and still had a very very fine movie with just the dramatic aspects of the cave collapsing scenario alone. I still don't think it was as scary as Hostel (perhaps it just depends upon what scares you more though) but I think aside from that movie it's the best horror movie in several years. I'd definitely recommend a viewing of it on the big screen.

Alright first things first...

The previews...I really wasn't that impressed with those at all. The first movie, Return or whatever? Dumb. The Wickerman remake,....eh, not a huge Nic Cage guy, especially in a serious role. TCM beginning looked alright...and Saw 3, well it is going to be good none the less. (And yes, ours had the "Seattle" trailer)

As for the Descent....

I thought it was a good movie. Somewhat predictable. And not nearly as scary as I expected. But I agree with ODogg, in the fact that the movie could of been really cool even if they didn't have "monsters" in it.

Eh.....I will discuss it when more people see it...

For now.... 7.5...but for a horror fan, 8.5.

Oh ya...and I almost forgot. The cast was too hot. Natalie Mendoza? Boing!

The Wicker Man is an epic horror flick, I don't know why they are remaking it though...

Was Natalie Mendoza the Asian chick? When she put her leg straight up above her head early on in the movie I think I about passed out. OMG goodness.

I just didn't find the movie that "scary". I mean, the "things" were too visible. Ya know? Like people have said before, the scariest thing is your mind, so the stuff you don't see is even scarier. When we first saw the "things" they were just hanging out, being casual, no big deal. Ya know?


Did you hear about the two endings?

In the UK version, when she escapes, and gets back in the car, and sees Juno's "ghost" or whatever, its like her other illusions, and it was all a dream. And it cuts back to her in the cave, unable to find an escape with those "things" closing in on her..
