LOL-Actually back in 1965 she was huge news, #1 because Killgalen was a household name as a reporter and "What's My Line" panelist and #2 because her alcohol/bariturate induced sudden death at age 52 occured just before her interview with Lee Harvey Oswald killer Jack Ruby. She wrote in her newspaper column "This story[President Kennedy's assassination] isn't going to die as long as there's a real reporter alive..."

If you get into poker, one of the bigger ones has been Daniel Negreanu and Annie Duke. Him and Howard Lederer got into a big argument (on the internet no less) a while back over it.

Whoa really, hadn't heard about this one. You got a link to the story behind it? The best poker feud IMO is Sam Grizzle v. Phil Hellmuth...classic stuff during the '03 World Series lol.

Bro --- I definitely want you on my Trivial Pursuit team! I think it's also interesting how some guys went into the sporting arenas and think of these guys as celebrities, which I guess isn't wrong.

Ok, lemme try to breathe a little life back into this thread with an interesting one:

Bill Murray and Chevy Chase!

Apparently Chevy didn't like when Bill came into the SNL fray and started getting the limelight away from him. And then, apparently the story went that they almost came to blows on the set of Caddyshack. It's too bad, because over the years they might have been able to make some films together, but now are both seemingly past their acting primes as their latest endeavors have sucked imo.

I wouldn't say Bill Murray is past his prime. He's just branched out to more dramatic movies. I really enjoyed his work in LOST IN TRANSLATION.

As for Chevy Chase, he's in semi-retirement so it's unfair to say anything about him.

I'll agree that a Murray/Chase pairing could've produced some interesting results given the right material.

thankfully it is preserved in internet history, lol. nothing too crazy, but still pretty interesting. Not like any of these people are intentionally abrasive like Matusow or Hellmuth. Those 2 make for great entertainment though.

LOL-I actually watched reruns of "What's My Line" for awhile and didn't know about the Killgalen controversy until I researched it.

I had heard something about this and went to "Wikipedia" to get more info. The incident happened when Chevy returned to the show in 1978 (remember Chevy was only on the show one year, and Murray was his replacement) as a host. Chase ~ ya, God knows SNL doesn't really need his kind as they've been producing SUCH masterful shows as of late. The Lampoon movies were good, but I always thought the Fletch movies outdid them as far as witty comedy.

Murray ~ maybe, maybe not; but he'll have to get some good writers to recapture what he had if he even can. I think he's done far too much great comedy to be taken as a serious dramatic actor....... now Candy could've pulled that off.....it's a shame.
