You all think I could set up a Network between 2 computers and send the OS over the network? If so, that would be great.

Also, I tried the system restore, but to no avail... I deleted the restore points because they were infected, lol.

      Just another brainstorming idea:
Somehow get your hands on a USB CD drive and re-install the operating system from there. Of course, if the laptop is not USB 2.0, then this will be a painstakingly slow process.

Aside from that, keep searching like crazy on the Internet for somebody else who had a similar problem and managed to re-install whatever files are needed to read CD's properly in Windows.

Well, knock on wood, the CD drive is working for the time being. I'm hoping that it'll stay working. Who knows though. Thanks for all of your help. I'm hoping that it doesn't die :y4:

cnet.com is a great place to post questions. Lots of "geeks" there who can help you out and will respond very quickly.

Nope, wouldn't work. When installing the new OS, the network drivers would get deleted and so would the share. Right when the first reboot takes place, it's be finished.

You gotta run it from the PC that you're installing to unless you have a Ghost image or something like that.
