Actually, it's very hard for me to enjoy. I watch it mainly for shock value and the fact that it is popcorn entertainment.

My line of work has me nit-picking just about everything that goes on from a technology and capabilities perspective. The one thing that I think 24 does well is the acting and writing.

They explained that there was a 2-year gap between seasons five and six. Palmer said agreed to run for President and took office just three months ago.

Didn't they show the bluetooth gang packing it in at the end of last season?

I gotta be honest. I'm a little disappointed. I thought the nuke going off and something bad happening to Curtis were rather predictable. You could tell something bad was going to happen with Curtis the entire episode because he was acting completely out of character. I didn't think he'd get shot until he and Jack were on the driveway though. The nuke was a given as the episode began to unfold.

Maybe I expected too much, but I was somewhat disappointed.

I sure hope Curtis really isn't dead, but it sure didn't look good.

Well I called him dying, just didn't think it would happen the way it did. And I'd also like to thank Hungry Bologna for sending me an IM when I'm about 5 mins in to episode 4 and saying, and i quote here, "cya curtis" A$$ HAT

Is it just me or is Wayne Palmer a bigger wuss then president Logan?

I think the overhype sort of led to the fact that it was pretty obvious the nuke was going to go off. Still shocking though...just not "fall of the chair" shocking.

I wasn't crazy about the Curtis part either. It felt very forced, almost like the writers said what can we do to just shock people. His faces during the President's conversation with Jack in the car would do Chloe justice. I still enjoy the show, but after five seasons I hope this one isn't just shocks for the sake of shocking.

Re: 24 Season 6 (NO SPOILERS)

It's a shame Curtis and Tony both didn't recieve the silent clock treatment. Curtis's death alone would have been enough to end episode 4 but the producers decided to go out on a bigger bang.

Curtis had every reason to kill Assad. The guy killed his friends and Assad did it in a ruthless way. To see a scumbag like that get a Presidential Pardon is too much for any human being. This was the first time Bauer killed a friend.

I'm not going to come out and say I knew Curtis's death was coming but did anybody else notice starting from episode 1, Rogers Cross was listed as a "Guest Star"? Cross even appeared on Larry King a couple of days ago to promote this season.

There are still many unanwered questions for this season?

                    - How does Graham fit into the story? He was bossing around President Logan last season but the show never explained why he had so much power and why he was involved in the first place.
                    - What kind of role will Bauer's father and brother have this season?
                    - Will Audrey come back? (If she does, hopefully she dies a painful death)?
                    - What role will Charles and Martha Logan have?

Oh yeah I can't wait until Ricky from Silver Spoons shows up as CTU agent Mike Doyle. Hopefully he's a lot better than Ronnie from Season 4.

I think the bigger question is: can they find another actor/actress who no one can take seriously due to previous movies/shows and make them a serious character?

There's nothing Silver Spoons can do to top the way Samwise Gamgee went out last season.

Wait...did he go out getting beat by his hooker sister's boyfriend? Because that was pretty classic.

EDIT: Wait, he got gassed...I remember now.

Yeah I think the overhype kind of made it anti-climatic to me. I expected to be sitting here when it ended with my jaw on the floor, but that wasn't the case.

I don't think he's a bigger wuss but when compared to David Palmer the guy must be wearing a pad.

I liked tonight's shows. Maybe because I was disappointed with the first two hours, my expectations weren't that high. Curtis didn't surprise me at all but he was only from last year so losing him doesn't bother me that much. I guess I'm in the minority in that I didn't expect the nuke to go off. That was the worst thing the terrorists could do. Now Jack is back with a vengeance!
