I can not stand commercials, so they only programs I watch are on Cable.

Six Feet Under - Not for the Timid. Great show about family, life and death.

The Sopranos - Great television show.

Entourage - Funny as hell. I am not very please with the 3rd season so far, but the first two seasons are classic.

I started watching it last summer and was hooked after 1 or 2 episodes. I bought all 4 season DVDs and can't wait for 5. Well written, well acted. And very addictive.

Definitely. I wasn't expecting much from "The King Of Queens", then I ended up watching the 1st four seasons on DVD-The 5th season just came out.

Another series nobody has mentioned is Battlestar Galactica. Very good, very character-driven, very cool premise, and very accessible for people who aren't big into sci-fi. My wife, who isn't, absolutely loves the show.

Yo Mama is also very good.

Gotta give another nod to Band Of Brothers. I've watched through it about 5 times by now, and it's still as good as ever. Trust me and everyone else, you must see this.

Other than that, the only other series I follow religiously is Smallville. I've got all the DVD sets, and will get the 5th season when it's out in September, can't wait. Never have missed a new episode. If you are a Superman nut, you'll love this show. It doesn't follow the mythos that well, but by doing that, it can still have a suprise factor once in a while. They even throw in other DC characters every once in a while which adds to the fun.

I'm in the same boat as the original poster except I'm watching season 4 of 24 right now and have already watched the first season of Lost.

I may try Smallville next, but everyone on here seems to like the Wire. I'll have to read about the series.

Tried getting into Deadwood but I hated it.

I'd add some more votes for Futurama, Arrested Development, and especially LOST. Watching the DVDs of Lost back to back is awesome as you're able to pick up a lot more of the developments.

Lately I've gotten hooked on Smallville and Batman: The Animated Series.

I just recently finished watching all the episodes and I liked it. I first thought it was something like Startrak and never gave it a chance, I'll be watching when the new seasons starts
