Good points..about Charlie not recognizing him; gotta remember the guy is a monster drug addict so I'm sure he doesn't remember much.

If the timeline makes sense, Charlie and Driveshaft weren't famous, yet. So, Charlie is clean.

Is it possible Desmond could have been on the island before and been in one of those brainwashing rooms? Like this timeline:

Brainwashed > Flashback > Presently on the island

I say this because the jewelry lady and the chick from the previews looks like the same person. And when Desmond talked with her in the flashback she sounded like she was trying to "remind" him that his destiny was to go to the island, as if that had already been put into his mind. It kinda gets sketchy with Claire drowning and the lightning... but I think they may have been part of the experiment. This is probably totally crazy and I'm probably not thinking of some major detail.

What would be funny is if this whole experiment was just therapy for Desmond's confidence. They did say "psychological" studies...

I'm completely hooked again, amazing episode last night. Felt a little like Final Destination, but absolutely amazing.

I said the same exact thing after Desmond's talk with Charlie at the end.

Unrelated, any theories as to the use of the names of the philosophers David Hume and John Locke. I know it is Desmond David Hume but it must mean something...doesn't it?

I've seen the list of names on the show that relate to great men of history and trying to find a relation between those men and the characters is difficult.

I personally think it'll make more sense when the show ends, though Desmond's relation to David Humes might have been revealed in the last episode.

David Hume wrote that "free will, in a strange contradiction, actually requires determinism, though it apparently conflicts with it as well."

One note: Says that David Hume was influenced by philosopher John Locke.

Not sure if we've seen something like that already or if it will happen. Considering Desmond and John have interracted countless times and John believes strongly in the Island (I'm sure he will again) I'd bet that there will be more countless interaction between the two.

It's pretty bad if the producers consider Jack's tattoos one of the biggest mysteries of Lost. I for one never gave them a single thought until everyone started talking about them recently. I'll be ticked if they count that as one of the three.

FINALLY. That cable has been completely forgotten since he discovered it. I would love to see them revisit it.

And the tattoos are definitely one of the three. They were mentioned during the preview last week.

Yeah, only reason I gussed the tattoos is that they were mentioned.

Which means they must mean more than we thought, if they're considered a big mystery.

Tonight's show is gonna piss me off like no other show has ever done. I have an inkling that the answers are going to be very anti-climactic, and they'll raise 3 more HUGE questions that won't be addressed until next season. (But I'll still watch it)
