Yahoo Entertainment is your source for the latest TV, movies, music, and celebrity news, including interviews, trailers, photos, and first looks.

This press release says there will be three more seasons. 48 episodes/16 each season with no breaks inbetween. Sorry if this is old news. Asianflow posted something, but I though his story said there would be two more seasons. This confirms three and a final total of 120 episdoes when its all said and done.

I think we'd need more than making out at this point.

I'm not sure why they divided it into 3 seasons seeing how the past 3 have been around 22-24 episodes. Would have been a nice touch to see it end on the 108th episode.

Looks like there was last minute changes. It was suppose to be 2 more seasons but now it's 3.

ABC wants to milk the huge DVD sales and the deal has an impact on international agreements. Spreading out the final 3 seasons gives Damon and Carlton more time to map each episode out. With only 16 episodes per season, I think it's safe to assume it will air Feb-May to take advantage of sweeps. With a shorter season, it allows the cast more time to go after other projects.

8 months is a long time to wait between seasons but millions have no problem waiting 7 months for 24.

In total their will be 119 episodes.

As for "Lost," show's end game is expected to kick into high gear later this month with the broadcast of the season finale. Details of the plot are under wraps, but a person who has read the script described it as a major shakeup to the plot.

"It changes everything," the person said.

If Jack is Jacob I will stop believing that they have it planned out, seeing as he was originally supposed to die in the first episode. Personally, I think Jacob is no one in particular... maybe an acronym or something.

He was only supposed to die if Michael Keaton played Jack. When they got Matthew Fox they rewrote the charcater's ompact on the show.

Sorry but the NUMBERS and 108 mean nothing, just numbers in an equation.

It doesn't mean that you can't die on the island, it could just means that you won't stay dead. Unless you're buried, then you would just be trapped under piles of dirt. Horrible.

So when Hurley told Juliet where Ethan was buried, I am now half expecting Ethan to come back.

I am sure we can poke a million holes in the theory, but I think that it would be a pretty interesting concept to have a bunch of people in one place who have died, their souls have departed, and are now walking around with no souls, trying to do some "soul searching" so to speak.
I know you aren't the only one to bring it up but I think that's an interesting theory.

Now when I think about it, I think about Ms. Klugh convincing Mikhail to shoot her. He doesn't want to, but she says it's the only way and to trust her.

This only goes with the theory, but perhaps Ms. Klugh didn't mind getting shot because she knew she could come back from the dead and Mikhail didn't want to shoot her because he didn't want anyone witnessing her "death" and then wondering how she was alive sometime in the future.

It's a stretch theory and likely one that will anger a lot of fans, but if it could be explained then I could buy it.

                      This is true.

Jack was supposed to die during the original pilot, but when the writers found Matthew Fox they realized that Jack needed to be in the show.

I don't think that even with that news it would change anything. To me, Jacob isn't extremely important to the overall plot of the show. Whoever Jacob is might be important at some point because it's been brought up, but I doubt it solves anything when it comes to what the Island is about and why the Losties are there (which I think are the two most important questions about this show).

They decided not to kill off the character before Fox was there. That's the reason Keaton turned it down.

Really? I guess it doesn't matter, but I definitely heard it the other way around. I always heard and thought I read it was Fox who made the producers/writers realize how strong a character Jack could be so they decided to make him a regular.

I realize that, I just thought it would have been cool to have the total episodes reflect a pretty significant theme from season 2.
