I wish I could get into this show again, it just doesn't do it for me anymore. Too many frustrations of question after question with no or little answers.

I've given up on 2 shows that I absolutely loved in 24 and Lost this season. Bad year for TV for me.

My dad's reaching his breaking point too. I keep telling him to hang with it, but it's like the show is slowly destroying him. Unless the finale is amazing, I bet he jumps ship after this season.

I'm still loving it as much as I ever did. In fact, over the last few weeks, I've become a complete devotee of the show and I'm on this journey for as far as the producers will take me at this point. I don't expect answers and I enjoy speculating and figuring things out for myself. Lost has provided me with more enjoyment than pretty much any show I've ever watched in this regard and at this point I don't care whether everything gets tied up neatly with a little bow or not. The ride has been awesome.

But I know many are in your camp too.

Yeah, I'm talking to a buddy here who still loves it.

I have no issues with the show, as it's completely fantastic to me. It's just killing me and it feels like it's going no where. It's a shame too, as I loved 2 1/2 seasons of it.

I still have it on my DVR and will continue to tape it, but I get to a point where I have time to watch it and I don't, just don't feel like getting into it.

I'm hopeful that I can get back into it though.

My best theory at this point is that when they are on the island they are no longer part of the "real" world. They may really be dead in the real world, but getting to the island has either shifted them in time or are in some sort of alternate reality.

How would this be possible? Remember Ben showed Jack the video of the Red Sox-Yankees?

And continuing on that note that's what pisses me off about this show: They use reality, things we know to be true, in the show alongside all this fiction.

Aye... I'm at my breaking point but I HAVE to keep watching.

Do you think Ben really expects Locke to die? Ben knows that Locke has some special connection with the island, he knows that he fell out of that highrise window and survived, and he knows he showed up paralyzed on the island and was miraculously healed. Knowing all this, is Ben really expecting to shoot Locke once, throw him into an open pit, and have him die?

I don't think Ben's intent is to kill Locke. I think Ben has lost his connection to Jacob and he brought Locke to the house to see if he could talk to him. And by shooting him, dumping him in that pit and telling him "I hope Jacob saves you," Ben is further testing the connection between Locke, the island, and Jacob.

I've been of the same opinion since season 2.

I've been under the impression ever since the episode with Hurley in the mental institution. The head doctor had a giant photograph above his couch of a beach. I think the plane crash idea is just a convenient way to explain why everyone is gathered together. However, that dates back to when the numbers actually meant something. The writers have changed the story since then, guaranteed.

But hey, I don't even think they are on an island in the literal sense.

Also, after last night, I am really starting to think that the "Others" may be some form of multiple personalities of Ben.

Of course, if this really is a literal island they are on, I can't wait for the writers to explain this scientifically.

I thought last night's episode was great. The chemistry and dynamic between Locke and Ben is the best out of the entire cast of Lost. I was thinking about something last night. What do you guys feel the connection is between Ben's mom dying with the deaths of the moms on the island? I think the fact that the mothers always die when giving birth has to do with Ben believing as a child that he was responsible for his mom's death. Could it be that he's somehow unconsciously willing the island into killing the mothers? Maybe the island can somehow cause peoples' fears to come to fruition? I don't know but I thought I'd throw it out there.

I totally agree. I also think that Ben is using Locke to kill Jacob. Here's my thoughts.

- Why did Ben so willingly let Locke meet Jacob when it looks obvious that he's never done this for anyone? The only other time we've seen Ben this generous is when he allowed Locke to blow up the submarine. He makes it look like Locke is in control when in reality he's his puppet.
- If Ben wanted Locke dead he would have shot him in the head while lying in the ditch

I think Ben is tired of being under Jacobs boot and wants him out. But perhaps he's lost control of his relationship with him. So he wants to see if Locke really does have some kind of connection to the island and has special powers. So why not have him meet Jacob? He will either be killed by him or his connection to him will be confirmed.

He probably knows that Locke will be healed or that maybe even Jacob himself will save him. From here, Ben will weave his magic to kill both of them, probably by playing one off of the other. Who knows?

Here's another thought. What if Jacob is really Ben's/The Islands prisoner? We have no idea what he was saying to Ben when the chair was rocking back and forth. Ben also could have been acting when he was thrown from the chair, making it look like Jacob is in control.
What if Jacob is some kind of entity that Ben stumbled upon that had great power. The power to bring things or people to the island? And now Ben has him trapped. Maybe that's what the gray ash is for - to keep Jacob stuck within it's circle (like Voodoo dust that prevents spirits from crossing it). It would explain why Jacob asked Locke for help.

Just some ideas.

I think this could definitely hold some water, especially if you consider that ring of whatever around Jacob's dwelling. Gunpowder set to ignite if he passes beyond his boundaries? Some kind of weird mystic device meant to hold in a spirit? Volcanic ash, the purpose of which would be unknown? But yeah, I definitely think Jacob could be at the mercy of the Others and not controlling them....

Interesting theory. But Ben walked away with the others and was functioning without Locke around. Ben definitely pushes Lockes buttons. In fact, you hit it on the head when you called Locke Ben's puppet. Everything that Locke has done has been in the best interest of Ben lately. Locke has harnassed the power of the island like few have, but it makes me wonder why Rose has been absent, she defeated cancer as well.

I still want to know why all the others sat around while Locke beat up Mikhail. Was it because Ben didn't react? Is Ben in charge of the ageless Doctor? He looked a little shocked at what was transpiring.

Where did the little kid Ben get the code for the electric force field? Was that from his dad?
