I saw it last night. I thought it was pretty charming and entertaining. They tried to go the Pixar route with the humor in the film but they're writers aren't as clever so it's not on par with those films. Still, I love the turtles so seeing them on screen again did have a certain cool factor for me. I was never sold on the CGI look leading up to this, but after seeing it in I must say I love the look for the turtles. Particularly the showdown in the rain on the rooftop, that scene was gorgeous. As for the humans, they look like Pixar knock-offs and Splinter was a little iffy. The villains were not at all memorable but they did look cool. I love the new look for the Foot ninjas.

All in all, a pretty standard turtles movie with themes of family and brotherly love being the main focus of the plot. The plot did take a backseat to those themes so the villains never felt like a serious threat. I would have liked to have seen more facetime for the turtles Donatello and Michaelangelo as the conflict between Leo and Raph dominated the film.

It isn't as good as the first one, and part of me does miss the puppets, but this movie is right in line with the TMNT franchise and a good relaunch for the series. I hope they can turn this into another trilogy because the movie theater is a better place when the ninja turtles are around.

Interesting reviews guys. I think i'll just stick to waiting for the DVD or my On Demand channel. There's too much stuff this summer and I gotta save my pennies.

I have a 4 year old son and my wife and I were going to take him to see "Meet the Robinsons" this Saturday. But I've been hearing that TMNT is very lighthearted and good for kids.
He got a couple of the toys from McD's and he seems to really like them.
Would you recommend this movie for him? Keep in mind the most violent show he's ever watched is "The Incredibles".

The movie gets pretty intense at points. The beginning of the film isn't really suited for a four year old, and neither is the fight between Leo and Raph.

If he was a couple years older, then sure....but a four year old might get a little freaked out.

Thanks for the honest opinion. I read some stuff on Yahoo (Mom's choices) and they made mention of a few 'dark' moments in the movie. I guess we'll wait till he's 5 or 6.
