Highly recommended movies, you have yet to see...

So, I was listening to the Glenn Beck Show ths morning and they were doing like a Sweet 16 of Comedy Movies and I remembered some great ones I have yet to see. A few of these were on the list, but some were not . I am ashamed to admit I have yet to see..

    Caddyshack
    Office Space
    Clerks
    Animal House
    Monty Python's Holy Grail

I love comedies and I know those are some classics I would enjoy..,yeah I know, I should be shot.

Dookie, I couldn't be anymore serious when I say this.

Drop everything, drive to the local Blockbuster and watch Office Space.

      Now.

Office Space is the only movie on that list that I'd definitely recommend.

And RD, you really have to enjoy the Sci-Fi/Fantasy genre to appreciate the movies AND their sequels of those franchises/trilogies, but of those, I only enjoyed The Matrix.

Most of the highly recommended movies i've yet to see are 50.40.30 years old so I won't mention them LOL

I just saw the first Clerks like a couple weeks ago and it has become one of my fave comedy movies of all time.

I've yet to see the LOTR trilogy and the Harry Potter movies. I have no intention of watching either.

"Animal House" is a classic. I'd also add "Stripes," "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" and "Slap Shot" from the late 70s and early 80s.

I don't get "The Matrix." Stupid story, lousy acting, especially by Reeves. A special effects' wet dream and little else.

                      Diesel:

To turn the tide on you, drop whatever you're doing and rent "The Godfather." An amazing motion picture. It's four hours, though!

Another film that everyone should see at least once: "Apocalypse Now." The original, not the Redux version. Watching that movie is the closest I've been to being "altered" without being "altered." It's a mind-bending movie, man. Great acting, great script, great cinematography. Just great.

                      Take care,

                        - You'll love the Godfather movies just don't watch part 3 it was CRAP!

                        - Downfall is one of the best psychological looks at the last days of Hitler and his Germany. I truly reccomend you see it.

                        - Hotel Rwanda was slightly over-hyped IMO but it truly is a great movie. Don Cheadle was amazing in it.

                        - The ending of Million Dollar Baby may be controversial to some and Clint Eastwood was painful to watch but the acting, directing and overall feel of the film was very good. He deserved that Oscar for Best Director.

Hotel Rwanda was good. If you haven't seen Sometimes in April check it out. It's a very good movie.

Yep. It might have been a mediocre movie if the first two Godfathers never were made, but it was sh*t compared to the brilliance of the first two.

But "The Godfather III" proved one thing: Sofia Coppola is a lousy actress. She was so bad in that movie. She's much better behind the camera or as a writer.

I've seen almost every movie mentioned in this thread, but the one that everyone on Earth must see before they die is....

The Godfather. And Godfather II, for that matter. I hereby disavow the existence of Godfather III, which sucked. One of the best days of my life was when I was in high school and sat down to spend an entire day watching I and II back-to-back. From a screenwriting and acting perspective, these movies are freaking clinics. Highly engrossing story, infinitely quotable dialogue, fantastic ensemble cast....just tremendous. They are, truly, the sum of all wisdom.
