I can't stand any of those shows on ESPN anymore, from Rome Is Burning to PTI and everything in between. They're all a buncha jackasses who like to hear themselves talk.

              Geez.
It has to do with Stephen A. Smith dissecting a book about race and sports, which the previous poster mentioned in reference to "Quite Frankly."

And yes, Smith is a jackazz. It has nothing to do with the fact he is black. Wilbon and Jason Whitlock both can discuss an issue without eventually using the race card, something Smith and Scoop Jackson are incapable of doing.

              Take care,

Exactly, just about all talk shows get old after the fifth time you watch/listen to them.

Quite frankly, that is totally my bad. I knew your name was Skerik, but for some reason -- even after checking to make sure I had it right -- I still misspelled it.

I didn't know that Steven A. and Scoop were so racist. Apparently they only cover black athletes and hate all white athletes. I'm pretty sure both have even said that Steve Nash is the best pg in the league and love Mark Cuban a white owner.

Labeling someone a racist is a big thing just like labeling them a hypocrite. Don't try to pass your opinion off as fact.

EDIT- Here's scoop's latest column, nothing about "keeping the black man down"

Isn't every subjective post on an Internet message board an opinion? If not, that's a news flash to me.

FACT: The sun sets in the west.
OPINION: Stephen A. Smith and Scoop Jackson weave too much race into their sports coverage.

                        Hence, the difference.

I'm not gonna keep running circles around this but when you throw things out like "this person IS..." or "they ALWAYS make things about race" you're attempting to make your opinion into a fact. Typically people say things like "I THINK you're wrong" or " IN MY OPINION they're quality journalist" when they are stating their opinion.

Maybe its a hate thing, I don't know. They're successful journalists and we post on a message board about them so they must be doing something right...

I miss the good ol' days, when you could criticize someone or something without being labelled a "*****". I've met lots of people in the sports world, some are great guys, most are a-holes. I envy them not.

I dont care for SAS either. He's to loud, every time I hear him on the radio or on a panel discussion (not his own show, but stuff like the Sports Reporters) he always goes off about how he's the voice of black people, white people have thousands off anchors, writers telling them opinions and representing their POV, but he's one of a handful of blacks with that job. But he can be deleted whenever. Just listen whenever he's on the Jim Rome Show (radio) if you dont believe me. He's around to bring in the black audience and I understand that. I just dont need to hear him pat himself on the back so much. Other black talking heads on ESPN dont take that approach...Greg Anthony, Tom Jackson, Wilbon...

Thank you. It's symbolic of what p*ssies Americans have become. No one can express a strong opinion, possibly hurting someone's papier mache feelings, without being a "*****." There's no such thing as respectful disagreement anymore. You're just a "*****." What a joke.

And if "in my opinion" was required verbiage on Internet forums, then it would be the most used phrase in the virtual world, by far.

I write "He is" instead of "I think" because I'm firm and direct in my beliefs, not because I think it's fact.

                                There is a difference.
