That would be awesome!! If they did this, I might actually think about going back to Blockbuster. My biggest gripe about online rentals from Blockbuster, Netflix, or Gamefly was the fact that the delay in sending each video only gave you a chance to rent only 7-10 movies. Now if they did this, I'd be happy to do it.

Mine ship from Louisville, KY, I'm in AL and it takes two shipping days to get them usually. Sometimes 3. I guess I'm around 300 miles from my distribution center.

They have a ton of distribution centers. I get mine the next day, unless it is a hard to find title that they ship from another location (other than Houston) or from a store. They also work 6 days a week and the shipping has been generally excellent for me and it's been almost 2 years since I joined.

For those that have had both this and Netflix, how do they compare? I'm currently with netflix, but the in store rentals are very tempting as I have a BB about 2 minutes from my house.

I switched from Netflix to BB and loved it. The rentals game just as fast in the mail and I really liked the free in-store rentals. I mostly used them for games but sometimes used them for movies.

I switched from Netflix as well. I liked Netflix's next day service I got from them, but the instore rentals and lower price nailed it down for me with Blockbuster.

What is the purpose of this, it seems like it'd lose them money, quite a bit of money in fact. Or maybe you can only do this once a month or something. I guess the intent would be to get people into the actual store but as a loss leader if it's left unchecked could really hurt their bottom line $$$.

I would like to hear the full details of that program for sure. I go into the store every week to get my free rental, it'd be nice to drop off a movie while I'm at it if it will give me another instore rental.

The free rental per week is enough reason to go with Blockbuster. And the free rental is for any movies including new releases.

Blockbuster has improved with their shipping methods. Some people have already mentioned it, but all I know is I can send a movie back through the mail on Monday and get a new movie on Wednesday. The turn around is great.

The program will start on Monday Oct. 23. You will recieve an e-mail on the 23rd or 24th announcing it, here is the rundown:
                                • First off you must have an account in the store. The online and in-store accounts are seperate.
                                • For every online rental you have, you can bring it into the store and get a free movie rental, NO LIMITS. It must be in its mailer, sealed and ready to go.
                                • When you come into the store, hold onto the movie, DON'T drop it into the return box. If it is dropped in their and checked in before you come up to the counter, you will NOT get your free rental.
                                • When you do check in the online rental, a message will be sent to your queue so that another movie can be sent to you. The turnaround will be much quicker so that you can get more movies. If you rent a movie that is on your queue, you must go home and remove it yourself, our computer system will NOT do that. Also the in-store rental will have a due date just like normal, overnight or a week long rental.
                                • For everybody that gets the 4 e-mail coupons, you will now only get 1 coupon a month in your e-mail, but as long as you bring in your online rental you will get a free rental. If you recieve the 2 coupons a month that can be used for games or movies, you will still recieve both.
                                • If you are trying to return a defective movie or you lost your mailer, then you have to call the online phone #for lost mailers, or enter it in the Report Problems pagem, under the Shipped Movies section in your online queue.
                                • If you have the 5 or 8 online movie plan, you will be converted a 4 movie plan.

                                THINGS TO REMEMBER:
                                • Must have an in-store account.
                                • DON'T drop the online rental in the drop box if you want to get a free rental.
                                • The free rental must be used on the same transaction that you checked the online movie in.
                                • Normal in-store rental due dates and terms apply.
                                Cowboys - Thunder - Athletics
