I wouldn't hold your breath. Tobias Sammet has said its unlikely a third Avantasia will be made but one can hope. So long as Edguy is still around I'll be content. I'd love to see them come back to the states on their current tour but its not looking too good.

Re: Best Songs Ever Written?
What's up PK. Yeah, that bon jovi tune reminds me of that tune desperado (although I think I like desperado better). It is kind of popcornish but I figured someone would probably mention it because I figure it is kind of main stream.
I saw your post about John coltrane earlier, every time that time life commercial came on about the great jazz collection I try and get the number because there is one song on there that I really like just by hearing the sample. I am thinking it is the one you mention (there is a strong sax rif that leads the song) I am going to go try and find it so be sure, if it is I will definitely buy it.
Lastly, no Peter Frampton comes alive candidates? Do you feel like I do?
Drop me your name and mailing address via PM, and I'll send you a killer disc of classic jazz MP3's from my collection -- gratis. That way Time-Life Music won't fleece you!
Just drop me a line.

Re: Best Songs Ever Written?
Yeah, that is a strong song! You really can't appreciate the lyrics until you hear them with the music. I really like that. I have never heard of it. Thanks for putting it here. I wish I could or someone could download Shine on you crazy Diamond 2, so you guys can feel me on that one.Comment

Help Pour Out the Rain - Buddy Jewel
The moment was custom-made to order:
I was ridin' with my daughter on our way back from Monroe.
An' like children do, she started playin' twenty questions,
But I never could've guessed one would touch me to my soul.
She said: "Daddy, when we get to Heaven, can I taste the Milky Way?
"Are we goin' there to visit, or are we goin' there to stay?
"Am I gonna see my Grandpa? Can I have a pair of wings?
"An' do you think that God could use another Angel,
"To help pour out the rain?"
Well, I won't lie: I pulled that car right over,
An' I sat there on the shoulder tryin' to dry my misty eyes.
An' I whispered: "Lord, I wanna thank you for my children.
"'Cause your innocence that fills them often takes me by surprise."
Like: "Daddy, when we get to Heaven, can I taste the Milky Way?
"Are we goin' there to visit, or are we goin' there to stay?
"Am I gonna see my Grandpa? Can I have a pair of wings?
"An' do you think that God could use another Angel,
"To help pour out the rain?"
Well, I thought about it later on,
An' a smile came to my face.
An' when I tucked her in to bed,
I got down on my knees an' prayed.
Lord, when I get to Heaven, can I taste the Milky Way?
"I don't wanna come to visit 'cause I'm comin' home to stay?
"An' I can't wait to see my family and meet Jesus face to face.
"An' do you think, Lord, you could use just one more Angel,
"To help pour out the rain?"
Mmmm, can I help pour out the rain?Comment

Re: Best Songs Ever Written?
Another nomination from me: "Lover, You Should've Come Over" by Jeff Buckley.
Looking out the door
I see the rain fall upon the funeral mourners
Parading in a wake of sad relations
As their shoes fill up with water
And maybe I'm too young
To keep good love from going wrong
But tonight, you're on my mind so
you never know
Broken down and hungry for your love
With no way to feed it
Where are you tonight?
Child, you know how much I need it.
Too young to hold on
And too old to just break free and run
Sometimes a man gets carried away,
When he feels like he should be having his fun
Much too blind to see the damage he's done
Sometimes a man must awake to find that, really,
He has no-one...
So I'll wait for you... And I'll burn
Will I ever see your sweet return,
Oh, will I ever learn?
Oh, Lover, you should've come over
Cause it's not too late.
Lonely is the room the bed is made
The open window lets the rain in
Burning in the corner is the only one
Who dreams he had you with him
My body turns and yearns for a sleep
That won't ever come
It's never over,
My kingdom for a kiss upon her shoulder
It's never over, all my riches for her smiles
when I slept so soft against her...
It's never over,
All my blood for the sweetness of her laughter
It's never over, she's the tear
That hangs inside my soul forever
Oh, but maybe I'm just too young to keep good love
From going wrong
Oh... lover you should've come over...
Yes, (I) feel too young to hold on
I'm much too old to break free and run
Too deaf, dumb, and blind
To see the damage I've done
Sweet lover, you should've come over
Oh, love I'm waiting for you
Lover, you should've come over
'Cause it's not too late.Last edited by Fresh Tendrils; 09-14-2006, 11:30 PM.

Re: Best Songs Ever Written?
Ok new nominations from me
"funny (not much)"
Funny, how I've stopped loving you
I can pass you on the street and my heart don't skip a beat
Not much, so much my eyes wanna cry
Funny, how I've stopped loving you
I can listen to your name and it doesn't start a flame
Not much, so much my heart wants to die
Now that you're standing here, darling, I don't shed a tear
This is just the rain in my eyes
And if I have proved to you everything I say is true
Please help me believe my own lies
Funny, how I've stopped loving you
And it's funny I don't miss all the heaven in your kiss
Your touch, no I don't love you, not much
instrumental interlude
Funny, how I've stopped loving you
And it's funny I don't miss all the heaven in your kiss
Your touch, no I don't love you, not much
No I don't love you, not much
"Luckenbach, Texas (back to the basics of love)"
There only two things in life that make it worth livin'
That's guitars that tune good and firm feelin' women
I don't need my name in the marquis lights
I got my song and I got you with me tonight
Maybe it's time we got back to the basics of love
Chorus:
Let's go to Luckenbach Texas with Waylon and Willie and the boys
This successful life we're livin' got us fueding
like the Hatfield and McCoys
Between Hank Williams pain songs, Newberry's train songs
and blue eyes cryin' in the rain out in Luckenbach Texas
ain't nobody feelin' no pain
So baby let's sell your diamond ring
Buy some boots and faded jeans and go away
This coat and tie is choking me
In your high socitey you cry all day
We've been so busy keepin' up with the Jones
Four car garage and we're still building on
Maby it's time we got back to the basics of love
Let's go to Luckenbach Texas with Waylon and Willie and the boys
This successful life we're livin' got us fueding
like the Hatfield and McCoys
Between Hank Williams pain songs, Newberry's train songs
and blue eyes cryin' in the rain out in Luckenbach Texas

"You Must Learn(remix)" - Boogie Down Productions
Who could rap about American Black History/Haile Selassie/Ancient Egypt/Johann Blumenbach/H.S. Chamberlain all in one song and make it sound good?I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong. Than the one who comes up like an angel and is nothing but a devil. - Malcolm XComment

Re: Best Songs Ever Written?
P*ssy rock. One of G N' R's worst songs. "Patience" was about the only ballad that G N' R did that was worth a sh*t, and it wasn't that great.
I'll put "Estranged" atop G N' R's all-time list, followed by "Locomotive," "Welcome to the Jungle" and "Civil War."
Take care,
PK
The one thing I like about threads like this is seeing what people think are the best songs, some I agree on and some I laugh at, but that is just my opinion. lol Which mean nothing at all. PK you crack me up bro with your responses by the way, keep them up. lolComment
