Good list, and now I have to be a smarta$$ and tell you how much I hate Monk. I bought the 1st season DVD less than 2 years ago, and struggled through 4 episodes of that annoying detective. It reminded me of an impaired version "Murder She Wrote", which I seldomed watched to conclusion.

I sampled How I Met Your Mother and it didn't grab me. I have to at least try out "The Class",because it seems like a "Neurotic Friends", but i hope it doesn't get too insane. I'm in with "2.5 Men", even though at times it gets a little lame. I was surprised that both leads and the show got Emmy nods this year.

I'm going to pull back on "Smith" unless a "24-like" following emerges on this board. I will give "Vanished" a try because I liked the "24' character despite his flaws.
"Smallville", "The Office", "the Shield" and "The Sopranos" will round out my viewing. When does "Curb your Enthusiasm" start it's new season. The hurricane and logistics cause me to miss the last season. I'll just get it on DVD. I probably left something out.

I might give "The Wire" a try-too cheap to spend $80+ on the DVD(s).

"Weeds" season 2 just started so I'll be stuck to that. Great show on Showtime if you haven't caught it yet, I suggest checking out season 1 on dvd.

Heroes looks cool so i'll check that out with the usual, Lost, Office and 24 lineup.

Yessir, September 5th. That's my #1 show of the fall...

Other than that, not much for me...CSI, Law and Order (I think that's returning in the fall...) and a bunch of football until 24 returns in January.

LOL, I never watched Murder She Wrote but I've heard the comparisons before as well as to Columbo, which I never have seen. You know the first season of Monk didn't do much for me, I've actually not seen all of that season. I got hooked during season 2 and haven't missed an episode since.

I think HIMYM started a little slow for a lot of people but I stuck it out and think it's great. My wife gave up half way through the second episode but heard me start laughing during later episodes and now she's hooked. I think you just have to get to know the characters, and if you start to like them, you'll like the show. A friend at work had the same experience as my wife and he is thankful that I kept telling him about the show because now he really likes it too.

I agree, HIMYM watchers really have to almost develop relationships with the characters. It reminds me a lot of Two Guys and A Girl (and a Pizza Place).

                Scrubs (if its still on?)

Nothing much else interests me, most hour-long shows I like get cancelled after one season ("Firefly" & "Wonderfalls" -- I hate Fox!, plus "Invasion").
