ppl want to believe they are all poor victims..abeit a lot are, but Katrina hit a lot poverty stricken areas, which crime runs rampant, so it's a no brainer transporting the 'refugees' to other areas would lead to more crime. If 100 crooks move from Alabama to Florida, the crime rate in Florida goes up.. & it makes it more difficult cause the majority are black, so if you harp on it, ppl will tag you with being prejudice for attacking one group, or you are stereotyping one group..

- New Orleans is the largest port in the U.S. and second only to Rotterdam in the worldwide value of foreign commerce and total waterborne commerce.
- Over 6,000 ships from 60 countries dock here every year, and the port handles an average of 11.2 million tons of cargo volume each year.
-The metro area produces over $1 billion in products every year.
-Louisiana ranks 5th in oil production and 8th in reserves.
-1/6 of ALL sources of natural energy passes through the port of New Orleans
...not to mention just how important the city is to the rest of the state in terms of tax revenue.
Sheeeesh! It's not all about gumbo and jazz, ya know.....Comment
