Re: Heroes (NBC, Mondays @ 9PM)
But I agree with what someone else said earlier, there's something to that. How did Nathan fly standing next to the Haitian? Wasn't there another scene were powers were being used with the Haitian around, the fire maybe?Comment

Re: Heroes (NBC, Mondays @ 9PM)
We know the Haitian's power. We just don't know the extent of his abilities.
There are two theories.
1) He can not prevent people from using physical powers such as flight. That one is a stretch though because I'd argue that every power is mental including flight.
2) The Haitian has great control of his gift and simply chose not to stop Nathan from flying. I buy this theory."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Its possible that there may have been a screwup or that they have an explanation coming.Comment

With the great writing of this show, I almost doubt they'd leave that kind of hole in there.Comment

I would guess the scar is caused by him exploding.
Either that or there is a power that we have not seen yet from another hero that can cause that.
The worst thing people can do with a show that jumps time like this is overanalyze things.Listen to The Remodeling Clay Podcast!

It's pretty clear to me that the Haitian can choose to allow people to use their powers. He was in the room last night when Parkman was interrogating Hiro by reading his mind, for example.Comment

I was trying to remember the scene that I wanted to use to backup theory #2 in my earlier post. This is the scene."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: Heroes (NBC, Mondays @ 9PM)
There is one thing I don't understand though. After 5 years, why wouldn't President Sylar have just killed Parkman and taken his power? On the same note, why hasn't Parkman just read his mind and figured out that he's Sylar?Comment

Re: Heroes (NBC, Mondays @ 9PM)
If he killed Parkman and took his power, perhaps he would have risked being outed.
Maybe he felt that he needed Parkman to do his dirty work while he pretended to be Nathan - knowing that being Nathan would eventually land him Claire because she is his daughter.
As for Parkman not reading his mind, I wondered the same thing. I cannot attempt an explanation of that."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: Heroes (NBC, Mondays @ 9PM)
Perhaps Parkman never thought to read the President's mind. He's a stooge in the future, he doesn't question his boss. So as long as Sylar acts as Nathan-like as possible, there really is no reason for anyone to suspect he isn't Nathan. Like Peter only suspected once Sylar used the ability to walk through walls in order to grab him.Comment

Re: Heroes (NBC, Mondays @ 9PM)
Ah, so the girl Parkman shot was the wireless girl. I had been wondering what happened to her, she just disappeared with no explanation.
As for Parkman not reading Sylar's mind, it might have something to do with the girl who had powers of persuasion. Sylar got her too and with that power could make people believe anything he wanted them to.PS: You guys are great.
