Re: Heroes (NBC, Mondays @ 9PM)
Those online comics of Heroes from NBC's webpage are being collected into a graphic novel. It comes out November 9th. Tim Sale did the art on the inside, and Alex Ross did the cover of the book (Jim Lee is suppose to have a cover too). I wish this collection came out before the next season starts, I guess I could just read them online though so I don't know if I'd buy this.

Re: Heroes (NBC, Mondays @ 9PM)
I haven't read anything in this thread and don't want to due to spoilers. I just want to say I never watched this show last year and was planning on giving it a chance this year after wasting my time with 24 last year.
Anyways, my wife and I started watching the box set of Heroes and this is something I never do - pay to watch reruns of a TV show on DVD. However we became instantly hooked. Over three days my wife and I watched the first three discs (of 6) and absolutely love it. We were up to almost 1:00 Friday night watching it knowing full well at least one of our two kids would have us up early in the morning (one got up just after 5 a.m. - earlier than anticipated). Its so incredibly well written, different and interesting. Its like X-Men with the smoking man from X-Files built in. I'm so glad we started watching it.
For anyone that hasn't watched this I would very strongly recommend renting or buying the box set before season 2 starts on September 24th. Its like watching a long, fantastic blockbuster movie on TV that was probably the best show on TV last year. Really looking forward to the next 3 discs (we have watched two episodes on disc 4) and season 2.Comment

Re: Heroes (NBC, Mondays @ 9PM)
I have to say i'm not getting my hopes up for the next season. Seems like everytime a great show comes on, they're not prepared to keep it going. Almost like they're stringing it along as they go, shocked that it went as well as it did.
Still, I'm hoping for a great season."I'm the best there is!"Comment

Re: Heroes (NBC, Mondays @ 9PM)
According to DVD sales, NBC should be confident in Heroes success.
Now for Jericho fans, not so good. A show that fans pushed hard to not get canceled and DVD sales aren't supporting that argument."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

The first season was soo good, i'm not sure they can keep up the intensity without watering down the show. For instance all the future stuff that's supposed to be going on... Like I said, I hope I'm wrong."I'm the best there is!"Comment

I don't really see how they can water down the show. Heroes didn't put itself into a corner like LOST did by creating a ton of questions and never answering them or enough by season's end. Season 1 of Heroes told a great story and I have the faith the guys will continue that next season.

Heroes is like a comic book. It's just one volume of books.
Writers always come back with more, often times better than the one before.
I think Season Two is going to blow away the first one."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. That's why i think Heroes will have a great futrue since its foundation is like a comic book. You can have unlimited stories from this Heroes Universe.Comment

Re: Heroes (NBC, Mondays @ 9PM)
Done well they can keep this going. But with shows like this, they turn into 24 or worse Lost. At the end, its going to come down to if they over strech the plot lines. I think NBC didn't plan on this show being a hit and it was just one season thing then mid-season they went, "oh ****, we actually have a good show. What do we do now?"Comment

Not really. It sort of feel off the tracks after the "high school/cheerleader" was over. Now it's just a bunch of super heroes chasing Siler.

Unlike reality there are no limitations to a show like this. If they got to Season Five and wanted Alien Invaders then they could do that."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. I agree, they can go on forever with storylines as long as things are planned out fairly well.Comment

I liked both the first and second half of the first season equally, but it did take a turn in another direction halfway through.
Considering this "evolution" is happening to people all over the world the writers have nearly endless possibilities of new characters and storylines. LOST, for obvious reasons, not so much.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment
