Lol, naw she can keep them. Besides that the theater is likely to be less crowded. Gonna be a lot of kids out today.

Loved this movie, and really like seeing Bridge's Obadiah Stane which reminded me a little bit of his Jagged Edge role, partly due to the fact that he rarely plays bad guys. I have a strong disagreement with At The Movie Roeper and Michael Phillips, who praised the film, but indicated that Iron Man's final opponent was disadvantaged by comparison. I thought the climatic battle was head and shoulders above anything I have seen in a superhero-super villain clash, which is usually very anticlimactic given the inevitable hero triumph. That was the best ending of any superhero movie. I look forward to seeing Shellhead (without the shell) in The Hulk.

Hmm, I turned down an invitation to watch this last night because I thought it would suck. Guess I should see this.

          I'll rent it.

Ha, I'm just not an Iron Man fan.

But I'm happy to know that people seem to like it. It'll give me reason to put time into it when it's on DVD/Blu-Ray. I just don't want to spend the money to watch it in theaters.

I thought the movie was pretty good. Went to the 145 show in the afternoon to catch it early. Boy was I mistaken that mofo was crowded.

                  Re: Iron Man is.....

Finally, a movie that respects its character! Downey was awesome as the millionaire playboy/genius, both sides of his personality were emphasized really well without feeling fake. Great, great movie.

Howard was OK, but I agree he was the weakest link. His voice and manner are too soft for a superhero flick. Anyway, all of the tech made sense, Pepper and Tony had a great on-screen relationship, and Jeff Bridges was really good as Stane. Would have loved more action...Tony's first battle had me and my homie giddy. Great way to bring IM from roots to the current Civil War era...with one of his best storylines (Stane/Ironmonger) in between.

Did anyone else notice a few famous IM covers here and there? When Tony was crawling, when we got a shot of the suit hanging from chains, and even Ironmongers first full apearance was coming out of the shadows like the original Monger cover. Thats how you know this is a real Marvel project with people who love the source material as much as we do...

                  10/10

Well yankee, if it helps...before I saw this movie, I couldn't have told you the difference between Iron Man and the Iron Giant. This move just delivered on so many levels, the even the ill-informed people can fit right in.

This movie did not disappoint at all. The only thing I'm mad about is that we have to wait to see the next one.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

Just got back from seeing it. Thought Downey Jr. was fantastic but Bridges was the best of the bunch. He really got into his character. The ILM effects were fantastic. My heart was RACING during the final fight scene. Defenitely a must see in the theaters.

Very good movie. Glad I got the tip here to hang until the end of the credits; nice little insight to what Marvel has up their sleeves. Was funny because I think a third of the sold-out theater hung in to watch the end too, which was cool. I thought Downey was a bad choice initially but he was great - he was the movie. Paltrow and Bridges were really good too. Terrence Howard was pretty weak; his voice was so soft sometimes it was almost distracting given the part he's playing. Great way to kick off the summer season; will be interesting to see what Marvel does with the Hulk
HBO's "The Wire" should rank as one of the top 10 shows EVER on tv - period

I'm really interested in seeing more of the new Marvel Universe in the movies. Jan Favreau said that Marvel was only interested in doing the Avengers movie if all the actors playing the different roles agree to be in it. I can't wait to see if it all works out. As far as Terrence Howard, he was kinda soft in the movie but I want to see how he does as War Machine. He has shown that he can play a tougher character.

The new cinematic "Marvel Universe" should be a lot of fun. First evidence of the trend will be Tony Stark (R.D.Jr) in The Incredible Hulk.

Read many an Iron Man comic in the 60s so that helped me appreciate the film even more. This is now my favorite superhero movie. I feel badly that IronMan 2 will probably be in 2011.
