Saw it Sat. Night and must say this was a great movie. I would put it up there with Batman Begins and Spider Man as the best comic book movies. Downey stole the show in my opinion. It does have the feel of Transformers which was a good movie but I liked Iron Man better. I didn't stay for the credits and my wife and I were thinking about staying. I guess it's an excuse to see it again. By the way my life liked it better then any other comic book movie.

Re: Iron Man is.....
Saw this last night on the digital projector. Awesome. A perfect blend of Robert Downey Jr being Iron Man, and Robert Downey Jr being Tony Stark, who is way more important to this movie, and the Marvel Universe in general, than the superhero he becomes when he dons his suit. The tone and pacing of this movie felt almost like a James Bond film where you get to see James Bond being suave and cool when he's not dodging bullets and bringing down bad guys.
I had my doubts when RDJ was announced for this role, but he really pulled it off with flying colors. It was also amazing how many scenes he carried that only involved himself and a robot here and there. Almost like a Tom Hanks in Castaway vibe where there are all these scenes with just one actor in them.
Great stuff. And I'm absolutely giddy at the prospect of all these other Marvel movies, crossovers, etc. This is a good time to be a superhero geek.Helen: Everyone's special, Dash.

Spider-Man the musical? Ha."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Batman: The Animated Series?
I would never laugh at that. That's the best superhero cartoon of all-time.
But, a musical on Spider-Man? I don't see why anyone would waste their time."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. Re: Iron Man is.....
Last I've heard it's being written by J. Michael Straczynski (of Babylon 5, Jake and the Fat Man) and is slated for a 2009 release.
It may be pushed back though as it's only been announced."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. I'm all for any Marvel flick as long as they don't go going with d-leaguers like Cloak and Dagger and such.Hank's Custom Collectibles 3D printer/painter extraordinaireComment

Re: Iron Man is.....
Lol, what we need is a nice blaxploitation film of Luke Cage, directed by Quentin Tarantino. It'd be Dolemite meets Hercules.
Seriously Ant Man is a d-leaguer. Sure he has had some somewhat interesting stories but he is far from an interesting character in my opinion. There are better character to choose from before you dig in the bottom of the barrel for Ant Man. Ant Man...surely you can put Deadpool in a movie before you do this guy. Even Dr. Strange or (bleh) Iron Fist would be better. You'd have to do a lot of magic to convince me that Ant Man could hold his own ongoing, much less a feature film.PS: You guys are great.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment
