            I thought Iron Man came off fantastic. When I first heard about it I was thinking it was going to be a CGI nightmare (see Matrix Revolutions), but Favreau stepped up and all of the acting was phenominal.

            Not only did Downey Jr. nail Tony Start, but I thought Paltrow, Bridges and Howard were all great.

            I also liked the little call outs and cameos...

                            Love, love, LOVE the fact that Terrence Howard as James Rhodes. I like Howard, and I like the softspoken act he plays, but Cheadle is 100x the actor.

                                    I don't know about that. Cheadle is a bit of a scene stealer if you know what I mean. I don't think you want someone who shows up Tony Stark. Howard seemed more of a "fit".

                                        I'm glad Howard won't return, he was one of the weak links (casting-wise) in Iron Man. Didn't really like him in any scene.

                                        At the same time, I never really like seeing a different actor for the same character... much like Katie Holmes/Maggie Gyllenhaal for Batman. To me, I guess I'd actually prefer continuity.

                                            I'm inclined to agree; I'd like continuity as well... But Cheadle is an upgrade of the highest order. I like Howard's acting as well, but I wasn't "wowed" by his performance as Rhodey. I have no doubt that Cheadle will make Rhodey truly come alive on screen.

                                                I like Terrence Howard but Don Cheadle is one of my favorite actors ever. It's going to be weird to see him as War Machine though.

                                                    Awesome news. I thought I was the only one who did not really care for Howard's performance. I know he is a good actor and can hold his own, but Cheadle is top notch and I think he can really bring the same type of passion to the role like Downey did for Stark. The next film is another can't miss.

                                                        But you didn't have to be. He was a supporting character and you really needed to be "wowed" by Tony Stark... and perhaps whomever he was going up against.

                                                        As much as I love Cheadle... I hate when companies do this. At least it's an upgrade!

                                                            I know; as an avid Iron Man reader in my youth, I was looking forward to seeing the comic I loved really come to life. It's not like Howard's performance was "make or break" for me, it just didn't resonate with me.
