Finally got around to seeing it on HD-DVD and I thought it was an amazing movie. One of the best i've seen in a while. Great directing, amazing acting, and a very good plot. I'm defiantly going to buy all the Infernal Affair movies now.

The one small problem that I had with the film was with the guy who was the "other" rat for Costello.

1. Why weren't we given ANY clues to his true identity throughout the film? He was barely even in the movie at all....It just seemed so random to me.

2. Why didn't he do anything to help costello avoid the setup from Colin? It's not a big deal and can be open to interpretation but this was one of the reason's why his actions at the end just seemed completely random.

Yeah I agree, It just almost seemed like a way to kill off another person, I don't know. Just saw it today and thought it was great, but that was definitely odd.

I just finished watching this movie and wow, Matt Damon and Leonardo were both amazing, as they usually are. I was definitely not expecting that ending at all, especially the first elevator shot. I thought the rat on the rail at the very end was fitting. But yeah, wow.

Agreed. I barely remembered who the character even was. I mean, I guess it makes sense in the context of the movie to have both and then also to only disclose one. I guess I'm on the fence for now.

I never had a problem with that as I just looked at it as Costello hedging his bets and did not want all his moles interacting with each other. Once it was established that Costello was a snitch, then the moles came out. I am sure Costello had the guy be a "check" for Damon without his knowledge.

I got The Departed for my birthday and in the last 2 days, I have watched The Departed. The acting in this movie by Leonardo, Damon and Nicholson...was outstanding. After this movie I think I actually am going to see more movies with Leonardo in it, because this was the first film that I have ever seen with Leonardo in it.

He's more believable now in a lot of roles since he's beefed up too and has some facial hair going on, doesn't look so much like a lil' kid like he did in his earlier movies.
