Among other things, Viacom also owns Paramount Pictures, Nickelodeon, and Comedy Central.

Well it's not like it's google's fault, companies were telling youtube to take their stuff off for awhile.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

I don't think anyone is blaming Google, it just sucks that companies like Viacom have to be like this.

True, but they weren't worth pursuing litigation against until they were bought for a billion-plus dollars by Google.

Are there consequences on the user end for uploading copyrighted content?

Is it just removed, or could the host/user be sued?

I ask for future reference to know whether it's worth continuing to upload and share content that is likely copyrighted to some extent.
