My point is proven. I don't believe the government has ever or will ever fully disclose information on everything they've ever studied. And I don't believe the government always tells us the whole truth. But this inherent disbelief in the gov't will forever fuel the UFO/alien debate.

The problem with this line of thought is that unless the government comes out and says "yes, we have alien technology. alien beings came to this earth and shared this information. we decided to keep this a secret for the security of our people", ppl who believe in aliens will never be satisfied. But then the government is at a no-win situation. If they have really done their tests and have without a doubt, proof that aliens DON'T exist and they come out and say "we have conclusive evidence that aliens do NOT exist" ppl will always say that they're lying.

Basically, what I'm trying to say is that the ONLY explanation that believers will absorb is the admission by the government that aliens exist whether they exist or not.

Again, my point in earlier post confirmed. People believe in the paranormal b/c it's just more interesting to do so than not. Is that bad? Absolutely not. Does it justify distrust in the government? I think it's completely unfounded.

I'm not saying that people haven't experienced what they experienced, but I do believe that there's a valid explanation. Possibly some repressed childhood memory manifesting itself as some alien experience. I dunno. I'm not a shrink. But I do believe that there's an explanation.

Businessmen, mothers, and so on can also be wack jobs. But I don't discount any of their claims as "because they're crazy." I just think that there's a more rational explanation than UFO/alien abduction.

Rubisco, how is your point proven? We have actual theories and opinions and you just disagree. The only thing you've "proven" is that you don't agree with us.

you're misinterpreting. my "point" was the inherent distrust in the gov't, ppl wanting to believe b/c it's more interesting than not, etc... from the ppl that believe in aliens. statements made after mine just further gives weight to that argument. i haven't tried proving/disproving anything about aliens b/c i have no proof one way or another.

maybe i was a little harsh in saying that aliens ABSOLUTELY does not exist. My point is that there has been no concrete proof of existence. Until I'm proven wrong, in my world, there are no such things as aliens.

                .
We are a very young intelligent species in the grand scheme of things. If you took humanity's time as an intelligent species based on the amount of time the universe has been around then we're not even a speck of dust.

It would be a cruel joke in my mind because here's this infinitely large universe that is still expanding yet we're all alone. I would hope and think that the creator/fate/what have you would at least conjure up older, much wiser civilizations for humanity to one day meet and interact with.

Also there's a theory (can't remember right now let me see if I can find it) Ah here we go! The Drake Equation which postulates the number of ET life in our galaxy for us to hopefully one day meet and interact with.

BTW, not quite related to this movie but Dan Akroyd's documentary that features the ideas of David Sereda is currently on my VOD. I'm very tempted to take a look at it.

Re: Probally my most anticipated film ever comes out tomorrow worldwide...

I remember watching an episode of Unsolved Mysteries (or some show similar to that) that told the story of a man from Winnipeg, MB who had witnessed a UFO landing and even touched it.
He was a rock collector and up in some hill or mountain when he saw the thing land and investigated. After checking it out for a while he decided to touch it. When he did, steam burst out from the side and burned 12 circles into his stomach. After this he became deathly ill. Doctors checked him out and said he was suffering from radiation poisoning. Eventually, the 12 circular burns disappeared. But every year, the burns reappear and the man suffers the same crippling nausea he experienced the same day he received the burns. The burns eventually go away and he's able to lead a normal life. But every year they come back.

I went to College for a short time in Winnipeg and I met a kid there who swore his family knew this man. He claims to have seen the burn marks himself and was very adamant that anyone that disbelieved his story that could come and visit the 'victim' anytime they liked.

Who knows if he's telling the truth, but I've never forgotten about that story.

I'm with a lot of others here that I believe it's incredibly conceded to think that we're the only intelligent life in the Universe. That's like saying there's only one fish in the ocean.
There have been several individuals that have provided "proof" of their existance but they always seem to be labeled 'quacks'.
One bit of evidence that I find hard to disprove was that video showing those lights over Mexico. There were several people that witnessed it and documented it via video. And to this date, not one government official can say what they really were.

EDIT: I found the story here:

                        Let me break it down.

No proof of aliens = no aliens. I can't dumb it down any more than that for you.

Ppl that believe in aliens will always believe in them, regardless of proof or not.

I dunno, if there was 100% proof that there's no alien life out there then I would stop thinking about it. As it is now, I lean towards the belief that there's alien life out there.
