I believe there are UFO's (because of witness accounts), and I don't see why anybody should completely outrule the possibility.

Again, I agree that there have been some questionable videos showing unexplainable phenomenon. But I would venture to say that a VAST majority of the UFO believers equate these UFO's to highly intelligent alien beings. It goes hand in hand.

Witness accounts?? There are enough whack jobs or people who want to tell fantastic stories to fill UFO files from here to doomsday.

        I believe...*X-Files music plays*

I've seen a UFO (don't how this thread passed me by today). It was the summer of 1994 and I was sitting in my yard playing my Game Gear. I saw what I thought was a plane flying low, but it didn't look like plane (or helicpoter for you smart guys out there). It was shaped like a triangle and had, from what I could see, six round lights under it. I remember it so vividly because I've never seen anything like it before or since.

My brother is a huge UFO buff with a collection of books and DVDs, so he's probably going to check this out.

Also, what's the benefit to the US government by keeping aliens a secret? Is this information had by our government ONLY known by our government? Are there other countries with this knowledge or are we the only ones privy to this information? Will there suddenly be mass hysteria if aliens were discovered to be true? Are they keeping this secret b/c they feel that other life forms completely contradict the notion of God? What's the benefit?

Who is to say the government even knows if there are aliens? And if they do know, they probably won't tell the people because of mass histeria and chaos that would probably outbreak.

Imagine knowing that there could be Aliens watching what you do all the time. Imagine knowing that at any moment the aliens could attack.

If the people actually knew that there were aliens, there would probably be an outbreak of major religious rituals and suicides(Hale-Bopp anyone?). Not to mention, people would be so stunned to finally find out that there are aliens, that the economy would drastically change; either with mass purchases of supplies(waiting for the big attack), or the total stop of all purchases(Absolute shock that we are not alone in the world, and are no longer sure of anything).

                Control? Control what?

So there's a worldwide conspiracy of ALL governments to keep this information a secret?

Mass hysteria? So many people ALREADY believe in aliens. What changes if it's actually true?

As for God... I pulled that one out of my butt.

As for the technology... you've already admitted that this secret is not only known by us, but by other countries as well. So how do we have an edge?

The thing with UFO believers is that NOTHING non-believers or the gov't say will sway their belief. Hypothetically speaking, if a UFO with alien beings were discovered, I would totally believe in aliens at that point. Empiracle evidence of the existance of UFO's/aliens. Again, hypothetically speaking... if there was absolute evidence to disprove a SINGLE or MULTIPLE UFO sightings, UFO believers will come back with several excuses...

                1. Fine, there are so many other "unexplained" events.
                2. Government is lying and they're always lying.
                3. Not all UFO's are controlled by alien beings.. but others are.

blah blah blah. NOTHING will convince UFO believers otherwise.

What if you found out Big Foot existed? You wouldn't dare go into the woods alone or without protection. You would start to question everything you saw in the woods, thinking maybe you just saw big foot. Same would happen if you finally found out aliens were real. You would start to think the simplist things were aliens(ex: you see a plane, automatic alien to you now)

Sure, I believe in aliens, but if I were to find out with 100% certainty that they were real and have visited earth, my mindset about life would change dramatically. Sure, I don't believe we are alone, but there will always be a part of me(until it's proven they exist) that doubts their existence in someway(no 100% certain evidence).

That's completely contradictory. You don't need proof to know that they're real, yet you need proof to know that they really exist (that's the basic notion of your statement right? please, correct me if i'm misquoting you).

Let me put it this way... why would you be surprised if aliens were real if you believe them to exist in the first place? It would shock the hell out of me b/c I don't believe it. But I would, obviously, be convinced that aliens existed if I see it. How does that information change a believer?

As for the bigfoot example, if bigfoot was real, i still wouldn't go into the forest b/c i hate snakes, not b/c bigfoot was real.

The population. I can't go into specifics about why I feel that way without going against TOS.

So there's a worldwide conspiracy of ALL governments to keep this information a secret?
I believe a few of the technologically advanced nations are in on it, yes.

Mass hysteria? So many people ALREADY believe in aliens. What changes if it's actually true?
A lot. Wouldn't your opinion on it change? Yes, it would.

As for God... I pulled that one out of my butt.
No matter where you pulled it from, that concern does exist. Again, I can't go to much into it because of the TOS, but if there's life on other planets...I'll leave it at.

As for the technology... you've already admitted that this secret is not only known by us, but by other countries as well. So how do we have an edge?
What we find, we keep. What they find, they keep. Our country has weapons, planes, vehicles, etc. under development that are insane. I wonder why the government knows about all these technological advancements before anyone else...

NOTHING will convince UFO believers otherwise.
                        And vice-versa.

It's not that i'd be surprised they're real, it'd be that i'm shocked that I was right. If everyone is always saying "They don't exist you fool", and then they end up actually being real, you get the feeling of "****, i knew i was right", but also the "****, i was right?!?!?!".

You just gotta think that since aliens are not proven to exist, that they pose no threat. However, if they are proven to exist, you gotta re-think if you are actually safe on this planet, and are not a target for some kind of attack.

Re: Probally my most anticipated film ever comes out tomorrow worldwide...

I won't say I believe in aliens but I do believe in UFO's because they do 100% exist. A UFO is simply an unidentified flying object and there are plenty of those in the skies. As for proof, all you have to do is look for it and there are video and pictures galore and ones that have been authenticated as well, most all of the major UFO pictures and videos have not just been authenticated as being untampered with but done so hundreds of times by different people to try to validate them for various individuals and groups, skeptics and believers alike.

Now with the acknowledgement that UFO's exist we must ask ourselves what are they? There are more theories than just aliens from another planet, there are theories they are actually entities from this planet (ie think how jellyfish are in the sea only in the sky instead), that they are humans like us from another dimension, that they are humans like us who have time travelled and etc etc. There are many, many theories but people tend to focus on aliens I think mostly because of the whole alien abduction phenomena which many link to UFO's for obvious reasons.

With all that being said I do believe the government knows more than it is telling. I'm not going to say there is a huge govt. wide conspiracy like some think because as has been said, that is pretty implausible, but I do believe some core people in certain branches of the government have at least more insight than the regular public.

As for the arguement I hear so often of "Well if this is all secret and/or hidden by our govt and the aliens or whoever, why has it been kept secret this long with so many people knowing about it?". Well the answer to that is...DUH IT'S HASN'T!! The government and powers-that-be early on found out the best way to discourage belief and curiousity into the phenoma was to cultivate ridicule upon those who expressed any interest or belief in UFO's. One only has to read through this thread to see that is a common reaction to people who haven't really looked into the entire field.

As for me, i'd just like to say again, I don't believe in little green men, but I do believe there is something in the skies, actually a LOT of things in the skies that we have not been able to figure out as of yet. The human race tends to be very smug about our knowledge and the entire attitude that we've discovered about all there is to discover is not only naive but severely intellectually limiting as well. If you don't have the desire to learn about life's mysteries then you're probably not really challenging yourself. And if you don't do so because of potential public ridicule then you're imposing limits on yourself that could really hinder your enjoyment of living life.

Also, for those of you who ask why people that are "in the know" or at least know more than the general public, would choose not to talk about this subject, or for those just interested in general in the subject then read the book "The THREAT: Revealing the Secret Alien Agenda by David M. Jacobs" which lays it all out with considerable proof. Although I admit that it may be a bit presumptious about some aspects, it will certainly scare the bejesus out of you, especially near the end of the book.

WOW, I'm really excited to see how some people are educated on this and everyone is having a mature conversation about it. That right there is further than some people go. Sucre and Jiggidyjames make some valid points. So some of you think the government always tells us everything??? Funny! And yeah im sure mass hysteria would break out.
